On 20 May 2025, the District Apostle Stefan Pöschel from West Germany visited the Manenberg Congregation in the Duinefontein District.

The invited congregations for this blessed divine service were Downeville, Gugulethu, Manenberg, Manenberg South, Nyanga, and Sherwood Park.

The divine service was based on the word from 2 Timothy 1:14: “That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.”

In his sermon, the District Apostle placed emphasis on preserving our faith, remaining close to God through prayer and His Word, listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and staying faithful even during difficult times. He highlighted that the Holy Spirit helps us to live according to God’s will, resist temptation, and keep our faith steadfast at all times.

District Rector Pr. C. Barnes was called upon to serve.

The choir concluded the service with a majestic revised rendition of “Forth, Forth My Heart to Heaven.” The congregation joined in during the final verse, creating a beautiful and uplifting conclusion to the divine service.

Apostle Jan Mabaso - Gugulethu Congregation

On Thursday, 23 April 2026, the Gugulethu congregation hosted Apostle Jan Mabaso from the Mpumalanga East accompanied by District Rector Pr Deon Williams. The Bible word was from Luke 11, part of verse 2 - "Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven".

He explained that Jesus Christ came to teach the will of the Father on earth, as He came from heaven and understood the Father’s will. The Apostle encouraged the congregation to remain united and to show neighbourly love by visiting one another when sick and offering practical help to those in need. He also encouraged ministers to visit the homes of congregants, not to have all the answers, but to be close to members and to support them, even sharing in their pain when necessary.

The congregation celebrated Holy Communion, and the choir concluded with the closing hymn. Afterwards, the congregation sang songs while greeting the Apostle, and members, together with the ministers, took time to take pictures with him after the service. Nyanga Congregation and Rector's of the District were also invited to be part of the service.
