Sunday's Sermon
Preached by Minister Glody
GOD USES ORDINARY PEOPLE FOR EXTRAORDINARY THINGS
[Exodus 3:20-22, Exodus 4:1-2]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Israel was suffering in Egypt, but they had the promise of God. So, even though they were slaves, yet they multiplied to the point a decree was given to kill all the male born.
You can still have the promise of God and be stranded or enslaved. Israel didn't know the way out but they cried to God. And they answer to their prayer was God saving and sending Moses.
Whenever God is about to fulfill his divine purpose, he sends men. God didn't descend, He sent a man. The key to your life is given to a man. Moses was sent to deliver them from their slavery in Egypt. He flee from Egypt, but where he went was where he met God, and he was changed, transfered and empowered for that mission.
It was in the desert where Moses encountered God. He didn't know who he was until he met God at the burning bush. Until you encounter God His plans for your life will forever be hidden to you. Like Moses, you will understand your destiny only when you meet the Almighty.
God asked Moses what he had in his hand, which was a staff, an ordinary staff. It was not about what Moses held, it was a question of revelation. He wanted to know if Moses understood Him.
[Deuteronomy 29:9]
When talking about revelation, it's about unveiling or discovering the secret of God. Because as long as it's a secret, it's a mystery.
What you see as ordinary for you is extraordinary for God. He uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
God doesn't want you to start with something big, start with what you have. And if you have the revelation, the little thing you have will become extraordinary.
Like the 2 fishes and 5 loaves of bread, Jesus thanked God and they multiplied. God doesn't need anything, he wants you to be small and have the revelation. And whatever you have He will increase it and make it extraordinary.
