-Psalm 127:1-2 NKJV
Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up till late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

When something is done "in vain," it is done without meaningfully fulfilling the intended goal. Whatever it may be, it is a fruitless endeavour that is done without true satisfaction. You can work hard to build a house, or stay up all night to guard a city or get up at the crack of dawn to go to work, but if it's done in vain it gets you nowhere. Doing something in vain is just about the last thing on earth you want to do because the effort robs you of your strength and gifts by wasting them on misguided efforts.

The bible tells us that doing things apart from God's help is a vain endeavour. Anything done apart from God, even if it looks good, is hollow and empty in reality. Further, one might add that the person who thinks they can do anything apart from God is in vain. Vain people overestimate their gifts and abilities and waste them in vain endeavours done apart from the approval and help of God. Vain people, if they think of God at all, are far out ahead of God.

Humble people, in contrast, know the futility of vanity and vain efforts. In the great scheme of things, their motto is: "'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6). The humble make a point of being in touch with God, consulting Him, seeking His Will, and asking for His strength and ability. The humble are careful not to get out ahead of God.

The life we have been given by God is too short to be wasted in the vanity of vain efforts. Consult God, and you will sleep better at night because you know God is at work for you.

FEAR!!
While some fears are natural (like the fear of danger that makes you run), much fear is paralyzing & destructive. There are over 450 biblical references regarding fear which shows that this is not an uncommon problem. Whenever fear overcomes us, behind it simply lies a lack of trust in God, His promises, and His Sovereignty. If not dealt with, fear will destroy us, just as Saul experienced (1Samuel 13:2-5 & 18:5-15).

Few particular ways on how one can deal with fear;

* Acknowledge your fear and if it is the kind of fear that implies lack of trust in God, then acknowledge it for what it is. Don't excuse it.

* Confront your situation with the truth that God is always with us, knows everything about our lives and is completely for us.

* Declare the greatness of God & His promise into your situation. Remind yourself that His presence changes things. The more we focus on our big God, the smaller other difficulties appear.

* Ask God to help change your thinking patterns. "Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think" (Romans 12:2).
Don't let your imagination run wild; instead, bring your thoughts to God & ask His Spirit to renew them. Ask God to deliver you from any stronghold of fear (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) or indeed any other stronghold that controls how your mind thinks.

* Step out despite the fear, trusting that God will be with you as you do so.

SHALOM!!

Are You Tired of Asking?
“If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” John 14:14 (KJV)

The name of Jesus Christ is the most powerful name in the universe. It is the name of the Godhead. In other words, mankind has been yearning to see God, and being a loving Father, He decided to reveal Himself in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:14). Remember that God is a Spirit and an infinite powerful personality who cannot be seen with the naked eye. He could only reveal His back to Moses because the glory that emanates from His face could easily kill him (Exodus 33:19–23). Thus we should be thankful that when we see Jesus Christ, we have also seen the Father (John 14:8–9). Are you tired of asking God for the things you need? When Moses asked to see God, He showed him his back, so it is true that we can ask anything in His name and He will do it. Remember that as long as what you are asking is in His will and you have the right motive for it, He will give it to you (James 4:3). You now know that everything that pertains to life and godliness has been given to us through His knowledge (2 Peter 1:3). Therefore, keep searching for what you need from His Word, and lift up the Holy Scriptures that minister to your needs in prayer; then your prayer of faith will be answered. Keep in mind that God uses people to meet our needs so have a good relationship with people. Live a holy life to prevent demons from intercepting your blessing, and you will testify that the name of Jesus Christ works miracles. Glory to God!

My Dear heavenly Father, thank you for saving me and giving me the name of Jesus Christ to use. Please lead me to scriptures that minister to my needs to use in my prayers, and help me to have the faith to receive answers from you. Please let me never get tired of asking in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!

Good afternoon Saint's.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
— Matthew 6:21 ESV

When push comes to shove and when all has been said and done, what is it that you live for? The answer to this question says a lot about you. The answer says a lot about what you're all about. It tells people what you truly treasure. It tells people what is truly valuable to you. It is important, then, to ask where your treasure is.

On the one hand, the Bible says that we should not lay up treasures on earth (Matthew 6:19). What does this mean? It means that we should not live for the things of the earth. It does not mean that we should not acquire things. It means that we should not live to acquire things. It means that we should not treasure the things of the earth. Although we need them and must acquire them, we should not center our lives on the acquisition of them.

On the other hand, the Bible says that we should lay up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:20). What does this mean? It means that we should live in such a way that the LORD stores up rewards for us in heaven. It does not mean that we should ignore the earth or the things of the earth, as if that were possible. It means that we should live to please the LORD in everything we do on earth. It means that we should live to lay up the treasures of heaven. Although we do not need them now and can't access them now, we should center our lives on the acquisition of them.

What you treasure identifies where your heart is located. The heart or soul is the focal point of human existence. It is the source of everything we do in life. It is the source from which "flow the springs of life" (Proverbs 4:23). If your heart is governed by the Holy Spirit, you will lay up treasures in heaven. If your heart is governed by Satan, you will store up treasures on earth. It is very telling and very important, therefore, to ascertain where your treasure is.

Today, have an honest discussion with yourself. Ask yourself: What do I truly treasure?

Lord God, we desperately need your wisdom. You have given us a great country, founded on principles and truths from Your Word. We need men and women who will honor You, trust You, and lead us once again back to You. We pray for servant leaders who love the things You love and who care more about others than themselves.

Give us leaders with discerning hearts, bold faith, and wise minds that model Your character. Teach them-and us-not just what is good, but what is best. Guide them in the way our country should go. Give them purity in their intentions, and godliness in their convictions. Energize their spirits and bodies physically and spiritually, and keep them emotionally secure in the knowledge of who You are-and whose they are. Help them to be bighearted and sincere, energetic in goodness, and courteous in their manners.

Raise up leaders with the greatest potential of godly leadership, those who can ease confusion, expose illusion, and heal delusion. You alone hold the power to turn the hearts of leaders, but You listen and use our prayers to move them into right action. Help us to be faithful to care and to pursue Your heart in prayer.

Help our leaders to be quick to admit failure, but ready to rebound in persistent resilience. Encourage them to choose wisely, and when they don’t know what to do, help them keep their eyes on You. Let them take a firm stand on issues that truly matter to You, regardless of the consequences or approval ratings. Make them God-pleasers, not puppets; leaders filled with conviction, not corruption.
As a nation, God, help us to desire righteousness more than rights, and to mirror sacrifice more than selfishness. You know us well, and You understand our flaws. Turn those weaknesses into strengths; bathe us with Your grace and mercy, though none of us deserve it. Fill us with the boldness to choose the kind of freedom that will benefit all, rather than a few. Open our eyes to see others as You do-with godly potential and value. But help us, too, to recognize our own pride in trying to elevate ourselves and others above You and Your purpose for our lives.
We need, You, God. Oh, how we need You! You have exercised nothing but faithfulness and fairness in Your treatment of our country, even when we’ve turned our back on You and forgotten Your goodness to us. Your discipline at times is hard, but You are just. Your purpose is always to draw us close to You, to bless us, and to make us a great nation who honors You. You are a good, good, Father-and Your love for us has a proven track record.
May God Guide Our Nation

Forgive us for wanting our own way and making our own paths-often the ones paved with least resistance. Forgive us for fence-walking, or for ignoring completely the truths that can so easily set us free. Deliver us from mindless quarrels and destinations that lead us nowhere, but away from You. Free us from divisiveness, and melt our hardened hearts to love, not hate, and to heal, not debate.
Our history has cried for king-like leaders who will solve our problems and meet our needs. But there is only one King, and that is You, Lord. We have blindly sought answers from others to life’s unresolved questions through the years, but You are the only wise Counselor. We have longed for peace, but You are the only Peacemaker, and the only Prince of Peace. We've clung to our weapons of warfare, not as measures of defense, but as strongholds of selfish pride. We look at outward appearances; You see the heart. With You, nothing formed against us can prosper. Without You, we are nothing.
Make us a great nation, yes. But more than that, make us good, Lord, with a heartbeat that wants every person of every creed and color to know Your love, Your goodness, and Your worth. Make us wise as serpents, but gentle as doves. Turn our fears to faith, as we look to You and You alone for the future of our country. Give us God-confidence that no matter what happens, we will believe You are not only in control, but that You know exactly what is needed to accomplish Your purpose. Help us not to second-guess Your moves, but to move at Your command, always without hesitation.

We look to You and to You, only, Lord. Help us make wise decisions that move our country in the right direction. Help us to do our part in praying and in staying with what we know is right according to the truth of Your Word. Teach us to make our actions count and our words matter, and line them both up to Your sense of rightness, not ours. Guide us with Your eye; grip us with Your strong arm; teach us what we need to know to make our lives-and our nation-count for you. We pray for our leaders, but we ask You to make us both leaders and followers: leading in the way of Truth, and following those who honor You.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus,
Amen
