Some of us are carrying things we’ve been praying about for a long time.

A sickness that hasn’t gone away.
A body that doesn’t work the way it used to.
Someone we love who is unwell.
Questions about healing that don’t have easy answers.

This Sunday we’re talking about the words of Psalm 103:
“Who heals all your diseases.”

We believe God still heals. We also know what it is to pray and wait. So how do we trust God as healer in the middle of that mystery?

Perhaps there’s someone in your life who needs to be with us this Sunday. Ask God to bring someone to mind, and to give you an opportunity to invite them.

This Sunday we continue our GOOD GOD series with perhaps one of the most difficult lines in Psalm 103:

“Who heals all your diseases.”

What do we do with that when we’ve prayed for healing and we’re still waiting? What does faith look like when healing doesn’t happen the way we hoped?

We’re going to wrestle with this together on Sunday. And we will dedicate a time to pray for healing.

Who is God putting on your mind to invite? Ask Him to give you an opportunity this week, and when it comes, take it.

ARISE Creative Week
create - grow - shine

This school holiday, kids in grades 1-7 are invited to four mornings of creativity, faith, friendship and fun as we work together to bring our original production, The Light’s Always Stronger, to life!

Kids will get to explore music, drama and dance, media and art, discover and develop their gifts, and become part of creating something much bigger together.
And ARISE is about much more than the production. We'll worship together, explore God's Word, pray, connect in small groups, play, eat, laugh and create — giving kids space to grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Jesus and build great friendships along the way.

At the heart of our story is the truth that even when life feels dark, the light of Jesus is always stronger.

It all comes together at ARISE Night, when the kids share The Light’s Always Stronger Production with their families and friends.

Some people knew him as Dr Peter Watt. Others knew him as Pastor Peter or as the Chairman of the Assemblies of God. But we, as a church family, had the privilege of simply calling him Peter.

We have many memories of laughter, travelling, sitting around the table, Bible studies, prayer nights, small groups, and Peter’s endless encouragement.

Peter went to be with the Lord at 8:50pm on Saturday, 5 September. He is now with the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he loved and faithfully served.

We will gather to remember Peter, honour his life, and give thanks to God for him.

The service will also be livestreamed.

If you would like to be involved in serving before or after the service as a way of honouring Peter, or if you would like to bring food to share, please email [email protected]. Roshan will help coordinate where assistance is needed.

“My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”

God’s Word – God’s People – God’s Table – God’s Presence.
That’s why we gather each Sunday.

Who are the people God has been putting on your mind? Maybe this Sunday is a good opportunity to invite them and make space for them beside you.

Mary, the oldest member of TPC, turned 100 today.

For a long time, you could find her faithfully sitting in every service, every Sunday, and serving by making tea and coffee for everyone.

More recently, health and the logistics of getting to church have made it difficult for Mary to join us on Sundays.

We recorded Mary praying for our church. Swipe to slide 2 and listen to her prayer. You will be blessed by it.

What kind of God is God? Is he distant? Angry? Disappointed? Or is he better than we have imagined?

This Sunday we begin GOOD GOD, a four-week journey through Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Forgives. Heals. Redeems. Satisfies.

SOMESAY is a project to trumpet abroad stories of breakthrough and progress, stories of overcoming and success. People are flourishing where they are and we can be inspired and strengthened. We need to hear these stories. So, I’m interviewing people from different walks of life and compiling their stories which will be published on YouTube. The goal is to publish a new story every second week. Some are stories of well-known people; others tell the story of little-known people. All of the stories be worth hearing and watching.

If Afro-pessimism is a school of thought then so too is “Redemption And Lift.” Where the Gospel takes root, where local churches flourish and people are well discipled, society benefits. Schools improve. Labour productivity improves. Social ills decline. Families become stable and healthy. Even the household pets live a better life. As the tide comes in all the boats in the harbour float upwards. We believe the Gospel causes the social tide to rise.

So, on 2 September 2026 at 18h45 at The People’s Church we are hosting a launch event where the vision for SomeSay will be presented.

As I have been interviewing people I have been inspired. I have heard wonderful stories. But nobody will hear these stories if we don’t get them out. That’s where you come in. Come along on Wednesday evening to learn more about this exciting endeavour. We have a worthy message to proclaim. But to give this message traction, we need your participation.
