The next PMC/AMC Parkrun/Walk is scheduled for Saturday 12th September at Rondebosch Common at 8:00am. Let us make this an Orange and Green mega demonstration of our commitment. Suggest we park outside Common Ground Church - a short walk to the start. Let's meet at the volunteer Gazebo at 7:30.

One of PMC'S outreach programmes is to assist Reading is Kwaai. This is a mobile library initiative serving 3 schools in Cape Town who do not have libraries. PMC serves as a depositary for donated books, and once vetted by project initiator Nigel Mortley, we cover the books in contact paper. Our next book covering is on Wednesday 2nd September at 11:30. Bring a pair of scissors and join us as we assist this worthwhile project. All welcome.

What a reassuring presentation today from the CCOT environment team. A superb power point presentation and excellent examples of the borer and wood from infected trees, which were passed around, introduced us to the mitigating measures being implemented by the City. The departing message was if you have worries about trees on your property contact the City Environmental Dept and they will arrange an on site inspection. Thanks to Mashudu and the team.

We were privileged to have Rev. Dr. Leon Klein share his testimony last evening. Truly a moving and emotional evening. What shone through was Leon's spiritual commitment and, despite his own disability, his compassion for those suffering from either physical or emotional trauma. Some tears shed as he wrapped up his story.

A bumper LADLES of LOVE sandwich collection yesterday morning. Some 57 loaves (over 600 sandwiches). Thanks to all for contributing - we are well on our way to providing over 10 000 sandwiches to young children this year.
