The Cape Coastal Apostle Area is pleased to announce the upcoming Sunday School Coordinators Conference, taking place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the beautiful Rustenberg Wine Estate, Stellenbosch.

With the theme “Reflections,” the conference will provide an opportunity for our Sunday School Coordinators to pause, reflect on their journey, share experiences, learn from one another, and look ahead with renewed purpose and enthusiasm. 🙏🏻✨

As we continue nurturing and guiding our children in their faith, may this gathering inspire meaningful conversations, strengthen our commitment to Sunday School ministry, and encourage us to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Thanksgiving Day commemorates God's perfect work. On the first Sunday of October, a divine service is held in which gratitude is expressed for God's faithfulness to His creation. On this occasion, believers are called to bring a special offering of thanks to our heavenly Father and reflect on how we can show our gratitude to God.

The saving effect of the sacraments

On Sunday, 6 September 2026, Friendship Day was observed. For this special Divine Service, our Rector, Community Evangelist Jerry Mentor, welcomed everyone to the house of God. He also called Priest Edmund Hendricks to serve.

The text shared with the congregants was read from 1 John 5:8
And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the
water, and the blood; and these three agree as one. (NKJV)

Message
We receive salvation in Christ visibly by receiving the sacraments.

Summary
■ The divine Sonship of Jesus Christ is acknowledged by God the Father.
■ The Spirit, the water, and the blood point to the saving effect of the sacraments administered in the church of Christ.
■ The sacraments are necessary for obtaining salvation in its fullness.

The choir brought the Divine Service to a joyful and spirited conclusion with a powerful rendition of Hymn Collection 164, “This Is the Day,” filling the congregation with uplifting praise and enthusiasm.
