Happy 50th Birthday, my babe ❤️
It seems like just the other day when we started our journey at the tender age of 21 and here we are celebrating your year of jubilee and you don't look a year over 21 🥹
Today isn't just a birthday my babe. It's a celebration of your incredible life. Fifty years of a life that have made you the man you are today.
You are a treasure, a brilliant father, an excellent husband, a phenomenal mentor, an outstanding pastor, an incredible businessman and boss. You wear every one of those hats fully, without ever letting one take away from the other. That's rare. That's you. Anyone who have had the privilege and honour of encountering you will attest to just what an amazing person you are. You are authentically you.
I've watched you stand in storms that would have flattened most men, and come out still standing, still fighting, still believing. I've watched you save clients millions from SARS in the boardroom, to saving souls from hell in the pulpit — and somehow bring the same fire, the same excellence, to both. You keep pushing limits like nothing is too big and nothing scares you. You write music. You write books. You preach the Kingdom unapologetically and authentically. You lead the congregation and your family with so much passion and wisdom. Through your leadership and your reliance on the Lord you have taken this family from ashes to royalty. You don't care for an approval or an applause cause you live for an audience of One. You have found your identity as royalty in the Lord and you teach others the same. The only thing that matters to you is living life by the authorisation of the King. And once you have received that authorisation you commit. I have not met anyone before you or after you with the commitment level you live by, your commitment to me, the children, your family and church family, to business, to your Malinois runs, to the gym, and most of all, to God and your daily, unshakable fellowship time with the Lord is admirable. No compromise. Ever. You often say, Comfort is the greatest enemy. So it doesn't matter what victories we get or how high we rise, your commitment to the Lord is like the first day you encountered Him.
Many people see what they want to see. Some see only what they've heard. Some see through assumptions. Some see through the eyes of judgement but I see the real you — the man who loves God with everything in him, who works with everything in him, whose integrity doesn't bend - ever! The man who shows up selflessly. The man who turns the other cheek. The man who refuses to speak ill of another. The man who is loyal, who forgives quickly and loves deeply and only sees the best in everyone. That's the man I married. That's the man I celebrate today. I celebrate you! I see you! You are brilliant in every way!
Fifty years down my babe. Your grandfather made it to 121 — so my babe, we've barely started. Here's to the next fifty. Joy overflowing, peace that guards your heart, health that carries you strong, and wisdom, anointing and prosperity in every hat you wear.
I am forever grateful that I was chosen to do life with you and that I have the privilege to celebrate you. I joke and say, I don't know what I've done right to deserve someone as amazing as you and I don't know what you've done wrong to get someone like me but jokes aside. Thank you for EVERYTHING my babe. I love you, I value you, I honor you and I thank you, you are my forever!
