The use of faith-building materials is a subject that many people, including Christians, misunderstood. Due to a lack of teaching, it often ends up being unfairly demonized.
However, the use of these materials is rooted in Scripture. When we evaluate these practices, we must use the Word of God as our standard. The truth is that different churches and ministries are given different mandates. Congregations that abstain from using faith-building materials are not wrong, and those that use them are not evil. If a practice aligns with Scripture, we should not condemn it.
At the same time, we must exercise caution and not receive spiritual materials from just anyone. The Bible commands us to discern and differentiate. Before accepting anything, do your due diligence:
1) Assess the character of the person offering it.
2) Examine the God they serve.
โข _Do they take credit for miracles, or do they give all the glory to God?_
If you remain uncertain, take it to prayer. Whatever clarity God provides through your prayers and investigation, trust it completely.

Nothing exists that God did not create; He is behind the creation of everything. Whenever God chooses to use something within His creation, it is to demonstrate to us that He is in charge. He rules over everything and uses it as He pleases. God can use anyone and anything from His creation to accomplish whatever He wants.
God is Supreme and Sovereign; He rules and dominates over all things. It is God who commanded the sun to rise and set at its appointed times. It is also He who instructed the stars to shine only at night. Before you use faith-building materials, you must understand this fundamental fact: God is Lord over His creation, and He can use it for any purpose He desires.

The fundamental purpose of a river is to supply us with water and fish. However, despite this original purpose, rivers have been subjected to things they were never intended for, even producing witches. Many of Godโs creations, including people, are now doing the opposite of what they were created for. This happens because the evil one has subjected them against their will,* forcing them to do things they never would have otherwise done. Although these are Godโs creations, the enemy subjects them to perform his own will, which is to kill, steal, and destroy.
*vs.19: God has sent us, His children, to redeem creation and set it free from the hands of the enemy so that it can fulfill its original purpose. We are supposed to redeem the people and things that have been placed under this subjection. Our very existence should bring deliverance to God's creation. God wants us to exercise dominion over His creation, just as it was in the beginning. Creation is waiting!

King Hezekiah's deliverance was not just for himself, but also for his city. According to the scriptures, a fatal boil threatened the king's life. However, after a poultice of figs was applied to the wound, he fully recovered. Through this, God demonstrates that He is in complete control of His creation. In Hezekiahโs recovery, God chose to use a simple fig poultice, proving that He can use anything He created to achieve His divine purpose.

Although Jesus' disciples could already cast out demons, _why did they need to use oil, and where did they get it?_ As His disciples, they likely received the anointing oil and used it under His direct instruction. Because the early disciples used anointing oil to pray for the sick, we continue this biblical practice today. However, religion often keeps us listening to the Word rather than doing it. As long as you only know the Word without demonstrating its power, the devil is not threatened by you. Scripture clearly states that the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power. (1 Cor. 4:20) Tragically, those who only preach the Word often reject and demonize it once it is actually demonstrated.

We read the account of a man who was born blind. Jesus was about to demonstrate His glory by healing him. Because He is supreme and sovereign, He does as He pleases.
When Jesus met the man, He did not just heal him right away. Instead, He made mud by mixing His spit with the dirt on the ground and placed it on the man's eyes. He then instructed the man to go and wash in the Pool of Siloam. It pleased Jesus to use this method at that specific time. In short, He used His spit and the Pool of Siloam.
When Jesus rebuked the winds and the waves (Mark 4), we learn a powerful lesson: everything God created obeys Him. Whatever command He gives, creation must obey. _Why?_ All creation belongs to Him. Because of this, God can use anything He has made to accomplish His purpose.

Jesusโs mother already knew the secret: "Do whatever He tells you." Jesus wanted a vessel through which He could reveal His glory and demonstrate His power, which is why He used ordinary water from ceremonial jars. He is God and does as He pleases. At that moment, He chose to use that water to reveal His glory. Don't be fooled by foolish people. Many know the text of the Bible, but they do not have the Spirit of God.
_What did Jesus do when the fig tree didn't give Him food?_ (Mark 11) He cursed it, and it died. The fig tree missed its opportunity. If Jesus asks you for fruit, and you believe, fruit will come out of you. _Why?_ Because nothing in all of creation can resist Him. The fig tree essentially reasoned that it wasnโt its season to produce fruit, not knowing that this season would be its last. Believe God!

_What materials were used?_ Aprons and handkerchiefs. _Why didnโt they simply speak the Word? Why rely on aprons and handkerchiefs?_ Because God decides! He alone chooses the method. At times, if a strategy does not come by direct revelation, He places a specific desire into the hearts of His servants. Ultimately, God determines what instruments He will use. Through these faith-building materials in Acts 19, sicknesses were healed and demons fled.
_Why does God use faith-building materials?_ When God uses soil, trees, aprons, or handkerchiefs, He knows that creation cannot hold onto offense. Whatever a material is sent out to do, it will do exactly as instructed. People, however, can get offended, which can hinder the flow of the anointing. Faith-building materials serve as a physical extension of God's servants. If a minister cannot be with you directly, receiving a faith-building material will produce the exact same results as if they were physically present.
Remember this before receiving any faith-building materials from anyone: test the character of the person. Pray, seek God's opinion on the matter, and whatever answer God gives, believe Him and trust Him. Do not just use an object based on the belief that the person is prayerful. Many have been demonized in this way.
If the minister is from God, He will approve Him. But if not, his ministry shall not stand. If he is from God and you resist him, you will only find yourself fighting against God.
Faith-building materials are not to be worshipped or glorified. All the glory is meant to go to God and God aloneโthe Ruler, the Sovereign, the Perfecter of all things.
