On Wednesday Priests of Aliwal Diocese gathered at St Francis for their Study day. Our Presenter Fr Mlulami tackled Pope Leo Encliclical Letter ' Magnifica Humanitas'. The document is on the good and negative use of artificial intelligence known as AI. There was robust discussion afterwards and how we can teach our people in this topic. Mass was celebrated at the end and Fr Nku gave a sharing on mental health of Priest's during the homily. We thank all who participated and women who prepared delicious meals for the Priests.

This past weekend we had a second Regional Meeting in Theresa. This time our focus was on "Mabahambe" popular organization spearheaded by Jacinta Ngobese. Our SACBC Bishop Laison of Migrant and Refugees shared with us the Church teaching (Catechesis), Pope Leo views on migrants plus SACBC position on the matter. He also shared with us the international law on the matter. People genuinely shared their fears, experiences and at the end we were reminded that we too are part of pilgrim Church and should uphold dignity of a human person.

Sacred Heart Sodality had their annual Feast this past weekend at St Theresa Mission. On Friday Fr Nku celebrrated opening Mass for them. We thank Fr Samente from Queenstown who also made an input on Saturday on the significance of the Heart of Jesus. Some of the aspirants were vested. Sterkspruit Parish celebrated Laity Sunday at St Martha. Mrs Tshemane gave us the background and the reason for Bishop to chose a Special Sunday for the laity. A homily by Fr Nku was on the importance contribution laity played in proclaiming the word of God in different strata of humanity. Mrs Modise gave input on Justice and Peace and Non Violence. We thank all who participated to the celebration. Mass was led by Fr Khojane Makoebu.
