We extend our gratitude to Fr. Kevin for presiding over today's Mass and imparting the significance of the Mass to the children. We also appreciate Fr. Olen for leading the Benediction. Special thanks to Mama Mqotyana for presenting on the Diocesan Theme of Justice, Peace, and Non-Violence to our children. The children engaged in discussions and shared their thoughts on the six theme-related questions, presenting realistic and true perspectives. With 68 attendees from Barkley, Indwe, Dordrecht, Burgersdrop, Bethuli, and Springfontein, we thank the Parish Priest for his tireless efforts and paternal love towards the children.

On April 16, 2026, various church leaders, including Archbishops and Bishops from different denominations, were invited to East London, Kugompo, for the ceremonial signing of the IsiXhosa Revised Bible translation, which includes the Deuterocanonical/Apocrypha books - specifically the seven books of Tobit, Judith, Esther, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, and Maccabees 1 and 2. The Bible Society of South Africa seized this opportunity to present certificates to the project participants, acknowledging their tireless efforts. We extend our profound gratitude to the Catholic Church members, notably Rev. Fr. Dr. Mluleki Mnyaka, Fr. Gwanisheni Mpumelelo OFM, Fr. Lubabalo Mguda, and Fr. Sishobo OFM, for their expertise and dedication to the Scripture. The ceremony was honored by the presence of the President of the South African Council of Churches, Archbishop Sithembele Sipuka, who commended the Translation committee and the Bible Society for their remarkable contributions, describing this achievement as a significant milestone. Archbishop Sipuka emphasized that this development allows us to share the richness of our Catholic heritage with those unfamiliar with the Deuterocanonical books.
