Early this morning, April 15, Mark Ristow was called home to heaven to be with our Savior. Mark’s graveside funeral service will be held this coming Monday, April 20, at 1:00pm, at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately after the service.

O Lord, you are the ruler of the nations and the Savior of the world. As the nations of the world are now engaged in war, we pray that you do as you promise and work these events for the benefit of your people. Bring this conflict to a speedy end. Receive into your eternal care the souls of those who die in Christ. Protect our nation's war fighters by your holy angels. Cause the members of our armed forces to carry out their vocation to the best of their ability. Relieve the anxious hearts of those who are worried about their loved ones engaged in combat. We know, Lord, that the ultimate cause of war is sin. Lead us to repent of our sins so that we may turn and find forgiveness in you and know that when our last day comes, we die confident in a resurrection from the dead and life eternal with you. In your name, Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Join us for the beginning of the Lenten season at our Ash Wednesday service, starting at 7:00pm. The service will be preceded with a chili supper, starting at 6:00pm.

We tried recording video files for our sermons but we were diappointed by the quality of the video. So you can now listen to our sermons on a weekly basis. As we move forward, we will try to enhance these recordings regularly.

There is no service, classes or voters meeting at Our Redeemer this morning, February 1, due to inclement weather. An audio file of today's sermon has been sent to all of our members. We pray that the weather will allow us to meet together around God's Word next Sunday!

After consulting with our congregational president, we have decided to cancel our divine service, classes and voters meeting for this Sunday, January 25. Ths cancellation is due to the governor's declaration of a weather state of emergency, and the forecast of freezing rain on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Copies of Sunday's worship bulletin and sermon were emailed to our members yesterday, that you can use in your personal worship at home on Sunday morning.

Depending on the weather and road conditions, we will resume our regular weekly schedule on Monday.

We will resume our Sunday school, Bible class and divine service with Holy Communion on Sunday, February 1. We will also conduct our annual voters' meeting on Feb. 1, after the service.

We pray that the Lord of the Church will keep his children safe and secure in his care.
