🎓💙 SABBATH SERVICE RECAP ~ CLASS OF 2026 RECOGNITION 💙🎓
Dwelling Place Worship Center
511 Dare Road ~ Yorktown, Virginia

Sabbath service at Dwelling Place was filled with encouragement, laughter, transparency, family, and powerful reminders about continuing to press toward Christ despite distractions, struggles, and the weight of the past.

We took time to celebrate and honor our amazing students and graduates during our Class of 2026 Recognition. 🎉📚 Congratulations to every graduate, student, and family represented! We are proud of your accomplishments, growth, perseverance, and dedication. We pray this next season over your lives is filled with wisdom, favor, open doors, and the guidance of God every step of the way. 💙🎓

The word taught by Evangelist Tanasha came from Philippians 3:13-14:

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Evangelist Tanasha reminded the house that every believer faces an ongoing internal struggle while walking with Christ. Even after salvation, there are still thoughts, habits, temptations, emotional battles, strongholds, and distractions that try to pull us backward. The house was reminded that deliverance and transformation are a process, and many believers silently wrestle with lingering thoughts and past behaviors while still trying to move forward in God.

A major question asked throughout the word taught was:
What is your prize?

The room was challenged to truly examine what they are pursuing. Are we pursuing applause, attention, validation, money, relationships, image, and temporary satisfaction… or are we truly pursuing Christ? We were reminded throughout the message that many distractions come disguised as opportunities, comfort, pleasure, nostalgia, or even temporary relief.

The teaching repeatedly emphasized how dangerous it can be to keep looking behind while trying to move forward with God. The house was reminded that you cannot walk forward while constantly reaching backward. Spiritually, emotionally, and mentally, many believers become stuck between old desires and the new life God is calling them into.

The room was reminded that many people look strong publicly while privately battling thoughts, anxiety, stress, loneliness, temptation, addictions, shame, or emotional exhaustion. Yet God is still calling His people closer and offering something greater than temporary comfort.

One of the strongest moments of the word centered around the revelation of “the prize.” The house was reminded that if we continue walking toward Christ, we are never truly losing. We are always gaining. The enemy wants believers so focused on what they think they lost that they fail to recognize the reward standing in front of them.

Evangelist Tanasha emphasized that Jesus Himself is the great reward. Cars lose value. Money comes and goes. Relationships change. Temporary pleasures fade. But what God offers is eternal, healing, lasting, and life-giving.

The atmosphere throughout the service carried both conviction and encouragement. The room was reminded that God already knows every struggle, hidden battle, temptation, anxious thought, and weakness. The answer is not pretending to be perfect, but surrendering everything to Him and trusting Him completely.

The encouragement was simple but powerful:
Relinquish it. Hand it over to God. Let go of what keeps pulling you backward so God can give you something greater. 🔥

After service, DPWC treated the graduates out for a celebration as we continued honoring their accomplishments and this special milestone. The service closed with joy, laughter, fellowship, and excitement for what God is continuing to do at Dwelling Place. 💙

What a beautiful Sabbath at Dwelling Place.
A day filled with celebration, honesty, healing, laughter, conviction, and encouragement. 🔥
