On Saturday, October 31st, from 12 PM to 3 PM, come celebrate Halloween with us at Recovery Mart , located at 1803 Boulevard, Yakima, WA 98902! 🎉 We’re hosting a FREE Trunk or Treat event filled with fun for the whole family! 🚗🍬

Enjoy our bounce house 🏰, grab some delicious free food 🍔🌭, and get your chance to win amazing raffles for toys and gas cards 🎁⛽! All treats and activities are while supplies last, so don’t miss out!

Good morning Yakima Valley!

Just so everybody has the understanding we are NOT doing a backpack giveaway this upcoming Sunday, August 30th.

That was the original date for Lower Valley Back To School Giveaway 8/22/26 but we pushed it forward a week and did it August 22nd last Saturday.

The reason being is since we did it in Wapato, we wanted to make sure that we were available for all the families in the lower valley before school started.

Which the district opened for school on Tuesday August 25th.

As much as we appreciate the exposure, we just wanted to let everybody know so nobody shows up at Willow Barn Ranch Venue and is disappointed.

We had a few friends reach out and tell us that Hot 99.7 Yakima was promoting the original date for this upcoming weekend.

THERE IS NO EVENT THIS SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH!

We do apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate the promotion on this event, but it was done last weekend.

With over 300 attendees within the first hour and a half and 250 backpacks given away to families!

We had so many people show up.

We ended up ending the event early!

You guys are welcome to look at the event done last Saturday August 22nd, which was the only backpack giveaway Yakima Valley Hope & Healing Fellowship will be doing this school year.

I just wanted to clear that up. Thank you guys so much and we will make sure we do another event for the community here soon!

*UPDATE THERE IS NO BACKPACK GIVEAWAY SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH, THE DATE WAS PUSHED FORWARD TO AUGUST 22ND*

THE EVENT HAS ALREADY PASSED!

🎒✨ Today’s backpack giveaway in Wapato was an incredible success!

We are so grateful to our amazing sponsors, A1 Tiled Customs and Royalty Barber Studio, for their generous donations.

Both David and Felipe personally helped out a lot with their contributions, and we also want to thank Brian Harris for his support. A huge shoutout to 70×7 Support Services for donating as well! 🙌

The atmosphere was lively with DJ Uncle Lue providing fantastic music and keeping everyone entertained.

We ended up running out of backpacks pretty quickly, so we went and grabbed another 50 to make sure no kid went without.

We served hotdogs and all kinds of beverages, making it a fun and filling day for everyone who showed up. 🌭🥤

This event wasn’t about us or seeking recognition. We just saw how many backpack giveaways were happening around the Yakima Valley and thought, why not Wapato, Toppen*sh, and White Swan?

We love our community, and seeing everyone come together for our kids truly warmed our hearts. ❤️

A special thank you to Alondra and her husband for making a run to help us get those backpacks, your support means the world!

And a big thank you to Willow Barn Ranch for allowing us to host this event. 🌟

God bless all of you who participated, volunteered, and showed up. We hope next year’s event is even bigger and better!

Yesterday, I made a pledge that reflects the kind of leadership I believe in: service should be about giving back.

If elected Yakima County Sheriff, I plan to donate a significant portion of my salary back into our community. That includes supporting local nonprofits, organizations that help animals, and programs that make Yakima County stronger.

Part of that pledge will also go toward creating a mental health council focused on deputy wellness, with the goal of making sure every deputy has access to a professional check-in twice a year.

Our deputies see people on some of the worst days of their lives. We ask them to carry enormous responsibility, stress, and trauma. Supporting their mental health is not a luxury. It is an investment in their families, their careers, and the safety of the public they serve.

I’m not running for Sheriff for the paycheck. I’m running because I believe we can build a stronger Sheriff’s Office and a stronger community.

Giving back. Supporting our deputies. Helping our community. That’s the pledge.
