“WHY” One word, three letters, can become the biggest question in our lives. Sometimes the answer is crystal clear and sometimes it is clouded in obscurity. I have watched the faithful people of ASBC, and now GCC, work diligently for years to build a youth and children’s ministry in our congregation. Many wonderful people with the heart and skills to accomplish this mission have worked hard with very few tangible results. I have counseled many of them as they felt broken by the process. I believe we can all agree, we want to see this ministry flourish, and hopefully it will! But while we are waiting to see God move among us here, I can say this is an absolute certainty; God rewards the faithful! I Corinthians 3:7 says this. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow.
Our congregation has actively, directly and intentionally built up systems and infrastructures and tangibly supported ministry leaders in three separate places around the world. All of those places without exception, have had dramatic impacts in youth and children’s lives on a grand scale because of God working through GCC. The latest example is the Youth Conference held in Kalulushi, Zambia this past week in a facility built 100% by God’s help through the people of GCC. We will never quit working to reach the youth and children of our area but along this path we can absolutely pause to reflect and rejoice on what He has done through His people at GCC around the globe.
