✝️ 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗝𝗢𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥?
📖 Philippians 4:1 – “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.”
🌟 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
A true pastor is not a CEO, a manipulator, or a dictator. In the dispensation of grace, the pastor is a minister of the Word, a shepherd of souls, and a steward of mysteries (1 Corinthians 4:1). His joy is not found in riches, recognition, or religion, but in the growth, faithfulness, and steadfastness of his flock in Christ.
📖 (Acronym: P.A.S.T.O.R.)
1️⃣ 𝗣 – 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗣𝗔𝗨𝗟
Sound Doctrine – “Hold fast the form of sound words” (2 Timothy 1:13).
Scripture Rightly Divided – “Rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).
Saving Gospel – “My gospel” (Romans 16:25).
👉 A pastor’s joy is to see the truth proclaimed clearly and consistently.
2️⃣ 𝗔 – 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗟𝗬
Guiding with Grace – “Feed the church of God” (Acts 20:28).
Guarding from Wolves – “Beware of dogs” (Philippians 3:2).
Gathering in Love – “For the edifying of the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
👉 His joy is found when the Body is edified and built up in Christ.
3️⃣ 𝗦 – 𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗦
Compassionate Care – “Be gentle… as a nurse cherisheth her children” (1 Thessalonians 2:7).
Constant Prayer – “Without ceasing I make mention of you” (Romans 1:9).
Consistent Example – “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
👉 A pastor’s joy is not in numbers, but in nurturing souls in Christ.
4️⃣ 𝗧 – 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗧𝗛
Teaching Faithfully – “Teaching every man in all wisdom” (Colossians 1:28).
Transforming Lives – “Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).
Timely Exhortation – “Reprove, rebuke, exhort” (2 Timothy 4:2).
👉 His joy is when the saints grow mature and stand complete in Christ.
5️⃣ 𝗢 – 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞
Organizing Ministry – “Let all things be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Outreach for Souls – “Do the work of an evangelist” (2 Timothy 4:5).
Occupying till He Comes – Faithful stewardship until Christ’s return (Luke 19:13).
👉 A pastor’s joy is seeing the work of God continue fruitfully and faithfully.
6️⃣ 𝗥 – 𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗔𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧’𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗚
Crown of Rejoicing – “Ye are our glory and joy” (1 Thessalonians 2:19–20).
Christ’s Approval – “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
Confidence at Judgment – “That I may rejoice in the day of Christ” (Philippians 2:16).
👉 A pastor’s ultimate joy is eternal reward and rejoicing in Christ’s presence.

The joy of a pastor is not worldly success but spiritual fruit. His heart rejoices when believers:
Stand fast in sound doctrine.
Grow in grace.
Walk in truth.
A faithful pastor’s crown of rejoicing is his people in Christ (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20).

👂 Pay Attention to Sound Doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3).
🤝 Partner in the Work of the Ministry (Philippians 1:5).
💡 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦
1️⃣ The pastor’s joy is in preaching Paul’s gospel.
2️⃣ His joy is in assisting the assembly.
3️⃣ His joy is in shepherding souls with care.
4️⃣ His joy is in training saints in truth.
5️⃣ His joy is in overseeing the work.
6️⃣ His joy is in reward in Christ's coming
