🔥 FIGHTING FIRE WITH FIRE

Not every battle is about what we can see.

In this message, Pastor Fern Matitz takes us deeper into the reality of spiritual warfare and challenges us to look beyond people, circumstances, politics, and distractions — and recognize the spiritual battle taking place around us.

BE AWARE OF YOUR OPPONENT

Not every battle is visible.

Not every attack looks like an attack.

And sometimes, we're so distracted by what is happening around us that we forget to recognize what is happening spiritually.

This Sunday, Pastor Fern Matitz challenged us with a powerful reminder from 1 Peter 5:

“Be alert and sober-minded.”

Why?

Because we have an opponent.

The Bible describes the devil as one who prowls like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

But here's the good news:

We don't have to live in fear.

We can recognize the strategy.
We can remain alert.
We can stand firm in faith.
And we can surrender ourselves to Jesus.

Pastor Fern reminded us that spiritual battles require spiritual responses—and that when we submit ourselves to God, Jesus is the One who defends us.

If God Is Good, Where Does Evil Come From?

It's one of the hardest questions we can ask.

If God is good...
Why does evil exist?
Why do people suffer?
Where did evil begin?
This Sunday, Pastor Fern Matitz tackled this difficult subject in a message titled:

The message begins with a foundational truth:
God is good. Period.
His goodness isn't simply something He does—goodness is part of who He is.
Pastor Fern then takes us through Scripture to explore the origin of evil, Satan's rebellion, pride, free will, and the consequences of turning away from God.

The battle isn't only about Satan. It's also about our hearts.

Following Jesus Through the Losses of Life

Loss changes us.

Grief is real.
Pain is real.
And sometimes healing takes time.

But when we follow Jesus through the losses of life, we don't walk alone.

This Sunday, Dr. Michael Plog reminded us that Jesus understands our grief because He Himself was acquainted with sorrow and carried our pain.

And God offers us something the world cannot give:

His comfort.
His peace.
His hope.

The comfort God gives us is not meant to end with us. What God does in our lives can become a source of encouragement and comfort for someone else.

Even when hope feels crushed, God's faithfulness remains.

His mercies are new every morning.
Great is His faithfulness.

THE MESSENGERS

What does the Bible really say about angels?

But they are not God.
And they are not the ones we worship.
