It was wonderful to gather together with CBFNC folks in Jacksonville, Florida for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship General Assembly! We enjoyed sharing in fellowship over the table last night at our state meeting and hearing about our calling grant from Rebecca Mathis with Campbell University. Anita Thompson and David little shared about Helping Churches Thrive and Larry welcomed new pastors to North Carolina. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate the ways God continues to work through our CBFNC community!

As we prepare for worship on Sunday, and as Cooperative Baptists gather in Jacksonville, Florida next week, I want to remind every one of CBF of North Carolina’s longstanding commitment to women in ministry. Since our founding, we have celebrated and supported God's call on women to serve and lead in every area of the church's life and ministry.

We stand in grateful solidarity with Baptist Women in Ministry and Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina, and with the many women who faithfully proclaim the Gospel, shepherd congregations and lead churches to pursue Christ’s mission in the world. We give thanks for the women who have enriched our fellowship through their leadership, preaching, pastoral care and witness, and we look forward to the ways God will continue to call and use them in the years ahead.

We commend to you statements by Meredith Stone of Baptist Women in Ministry https://bwim.info/BWIMResponsetoSBC/ and Paul Baxley of CBF Global https://cbf.net/cbfs-baxley-god-equally-calls-women-and.../.

We welcome all North Carolina Baptist women in ministry in our fellowship, both lay and clergy, even if your congregations have not chosen to partner with us.

Tim Lipp was installed as the new pastor of First Baptist Mount Olive NC on Sunday, May 31. The installation service featured Ed Beddingfield, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church in Buies Creek, Glenn Phillips, interim pastor and CBFNC Transitional Guide and Lou Ann Gilliam, Ministerial Equipping Director for CBFNC. During the service, pastor search chair Charles Mclendon and Tim Lipp signed a covenant as a part of the installation service.

Congratulations! We were honored to assist Tim and First Baptist Mount Olive during the transition and we look forward to supporting you in the journey ahead!

Heavy rain in recent days has caused isolated flooding in several western NC counties. We have communicated with several pastors in the region and have so far discovered no affected partner churches. We will continue to monitor the situation and share additional information, including opportunities for assistance, as they arise. Please keep our western NC neighbors in your prayers, as these conditions are traumatic for them even if they suffer no property damage.

From the CBFNC Blog: "Thanks to more than 100 generous donors, the CBFNC Hunger Fund has been replenished. This year’s Annual Gathering offering campaign, which was dedicated to the Hunger Fund, raised a total of $12,393 — a testament to the collective compassion of our fellowship."

This fund will help churches and community partners across North Carolina respond to food insecurity with compassion, hope and resources, making a direct impact to neighbors in need. Learn more about the CBFNC Hunger Fund to discover how this ministry puts faith into action and how YOU can be part of it.
