As we prepare for worship on Sunday, and as Cooperative Baptists gather in Jacksonville, Florida next week, I want to remind every one of CBF of North Carolina’s longstanding commitment to women in ministry. Since our founding, we have celebrated and supported God's call on women to serve and lead in every area of the church's life and ministry.
We stand in grateful solidarity with Baptist Women in Ministry and Baptist Women in Ministry of North Carolina, and with the many women who faithfully proclaim the Gospel, shepherd congregations and lead churches to pursue Christ’s mission in the world. We give thanks for the women who have enriched our fellowship through their leadership, preaching, pastoral care and witness, and we look forward to the ways God will continue to call and use them in the years ahead.
We commend to you statements by Meredith Stone of Baptist Women in Ministry https://bwim.info/BWIMResponsetoSBC/ and Paul Baxley of CBF Global https://cbf.net/cbfs-baxley-god-equally-calls-women-and.../.
We welcome all North Carolina Baptist women in ministry in our fellowship, both lay and clergy, even if your congregations have not chosen to partner with us.
