We welcome you to join us on Saturday September 5, 2026, at 5pm for Bean Supper! Bring your appetite, your friends, relatives or neighbors. There is plenty of hot dogs and cole slaw, baked beans and potato salad. And the rolls! you can't forget rolls! Don't forget to leave room for pie, different flavors with coffee you can't go wrong!!!
Want more? We have pints to sell, let a server know you wish to buy a take home pint of your favorite beans, cole slaw or potato salad. Know someone who couldn't make it, bring them some!

The United Church of Wi******er NH would like to thank the church and community members and friends who have generously donated to the Give and Take Blessing Nook, located inside the Town Hall Wi******er, NH by the main front entrance! The motto of the shelves is: Give what you can and Take what you need. Our current needs for donations include: Mac-N-Cheese, Canned meat or fish, Bottled water, and Travel size hygiene products. We are well stocked with Canned beans and bagged dry beans, but we happily accept Meals in a Can such as Chili, Pork-N-Beans, or Baked beans. TUCW made it to the papers. In February of 1987 the headline was "History made in Wi******er". It speaks about not the town's birthday nor the celebration of the establishment of Wi******er's first church, but rather February 4, 1987 marked the 100th serving of the "Family Style Baked Bean Supper"". This was a popular Wi******er community event that was probably unmatched for longevity in the Monadnock region. Suppers have been held on the first Saturday of the month with the exception of June of 1984 when a flood hit the town. The first 80 suppers were organized by George and Betty Piper; Wesson and Jackie Taylor were in charge of it since, assisted by a loyal group of volunteers. When preparing meals for visitors from as far away as Northampton and Springfield, Mass, it required an ambitious grocery list: 40lbs of beans, 80lbs of potatoes, 60lbs of hotdogs, 40doz rolls, 35lbs of cole slaw, 40 assorted pies, and 600 cups of coffee, as well as tea and milk. The article ends with: "It's been said that, if visitors to America wish to see what our society is like, they ought to attend a small-town celebration. Wi******er's now famous baked bean suppers fit that bill."

Do you have some time to volunteer on Sunday for a great cause? The clothing swap at the Wi******er ELMM community center will from 9am-2pm. The church is donating clothing for this event, and we can use some volunteers to help set up our donations from 8am-9am, followed by a continental breakfast back at the church provided by Mitty Johnson.
