Heartland Church - Winamac

Heartland Church - Winamac Join us for Sunday morning service at 9 AM & 10:15 AM EST or the same sermon on Thursday night at 6:30 PM EST

Heartland Church is built on a biblical foundation that determines how we think about God. The expression of those thoughts reflects our values--the ideas and attitudes we believe are important. We value full devotion to Christ and His cause and consider it normal for every believer. We value our public celebrations, which contain "now" encounters with the Holy Spirit through dynamic praise and wo

rship along with anointed teaching and preaching, as catalysts for transformation in the lives of individuals and the church. We value going through life together and fostering loving relationships that permeate every aspect of church life. We value being culturally relevant as a church while remaining doctrinally pure. We value authenticity and the hunger for continuous spiritual growth in the lives of Christ's followers. We value the presence of the miraculous in our midst, especially through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We value lost people because they matter to God and, therefore, ought to matter to His church. We value world missions and will devote significant time, energy, and money towards developing leadership and materials for them. We value the unity of believers and will honor and support other life-giving churches and individuals that love God. We value small groups as places of growth and life change. We value the stewardship of spiritual gifts and participation of all believers in ministry and service. We value prayer, both individually and corporately, as vital, effective, and real communication with God.

This isn’t about becoming a “better person.”

It’s not a self-improvement program—it’s surrender. Letting God do the work in you, through you, and around you. Real change happens when you stop striving and start trusting Him to move.

God’s timing rarely feels like good timing to us.

It’s either too slow or too soon. We want it now—or we’re not ready yet. But His timing isn’t off… it’s just not ours.

Waiting on God isn’t doing nothing—it’s staying ready.

It’s active. Like a waiter paying attention, watching, listening, ready to respond the moment He moves. Not passive—positioned.

Jesus didn’t rush—He moved in God’s timing.

Every step, every miracle, every moment… led by the Father. That’s how He did so much in so little time. When you align with God’s timing instead of your own, everything changes.

What do you do when God tells you to wait?

Part 4 of Our Risen Savior is a reminder that waiting is not wasted time. When we trust God’s timing, He prepares us for what’s next.

If you’re in a season of waiting, this message is for you.

Failure doesn’t get healed by hiding from Jesus—it gets healed by running to Him.

Yes, it may feel awkward. Yes, He already knows what you did. But the things you bring to Him are the things He can restore. Don’t stay in the boat. Swim to Jesus.

Restoration looks like letting go of the identity of your past mistakes.

You’re not what you did. You’re who God says you are now. And healing becomes complete when you start using your story to help somebody else. That’s how lives change.

You can’t say you love God and ignore people.

Jesus made it clear—if you love Him, you’ll care for others. Real faith shows up in real, tangible love for the people around you.

We ignore warnings the same way Peter did—we think we’re stronger than we are.

“I’ve got this.” “I won’t fall.” But playing with fire still burns. Peter’s story isn’t just about him—it’s about us. We are Peter.

Peter thought he had failed Jesus beyond repair—but grace had the final word.

In Part 3 of Our Risen Savior, we look at how Jesus restored Peter after his greatest mistake and how He still restores us today. Your failure is not the end of your story.

I’m not a Christian because it feels good—I’m a Christian because it’s true.

Feelings come and go. Truth doesn’t. Don’t build your faith on what feels right—build it on what is right.
