The ladies of St. Nicholas Philoptochos were hard at work preparing eggs for Pascha. Bright and beautiful and ready for Sunday!

Our St. Nicholas Philoptochos was treated to an excellent presentation by Novant Health Foundation Philanthropy Manager Kristin McPeters and Novant NICU Nurse Manager Brandy Garris about the benefits of a new Pacifier Activated Lullaby device (PAL). The PALS were purchased due to a generous donation from our national Philoptochos and they can help shorten the hospital stay of premature babies. Novant Health also received supplies like baby wipes and diaper ointment that are given to needy parents at the annual Novant community baby shower in May. The supplies were donated by members of our church community. Just another example of how our Ladies Philoptochos and our church supports our local community.

REMINDER OF OUR UPCOMING PRESENTATION on March 29th!

After the Greek Independence Day program/ luncheon on March 29th, Kristin McPeters, Philanthropy Manager for the NOVANT Health Foundations, will speak to our church community about recent efforts to support mothers and children in the Wilmington area.

She will also talk about a generous donation the NOVANT Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) received from our National Philoptochos Children's Medical Luncheon and how that gift is going to help babies in the NICU unit.

Our Ladies Philoptochos is excited to join forces with NOVANT Hospital's Health Foundation Coastal Region Initiative that supports pregnant mothers and infants by providing critical care items.
You can support this effort too, by bringing in baby books, diaper cream and baby wipes and putting them in the bassinets in the Hellenic Center.

Please join us after church for this interesting event. We will have light refreshments for the shower!

A few reminders of our St. Nicholas Philoptochos Lenten activities. Our Philoptochos is offering lenten/ vegan soups for sale on Sundays after the Divine Liturgy. If you are able or interested in cooking a pot of soup (or any other vegan dish), please sign up on our Sign Up Genius in the email that was sent out.

We are selling lilies/ Easter flowers to adorn the church Solea for Pascha. These can be purchased in memory of or in honor of your loved ones. Be part of this lovely tradition. The flowers are $12 each.

We will again be offering a Palm Sunday luncheon on Sunday April 5th. Tickets on sale now. $15 for a fish dinner and $7 for a pasta dinner. Reserve your meal by March 29th. After March 29th, the fish meal will be $20 and $10 for the pasta meal.

ALSO - Don't forget our Community Baby Shower on Sunday March 29th, after the Greek Independence Day program and luncheon.

Easter flowers are available to purchase from St. Nicholas Philoptochos. Easter flower offerings are $12 each. You can purchase as many as you want and request the names of people you want to remember or honor. Please check your email from Philoptochos that includes the Easter Flower Offering form or contact one of our board members directly or after church on Sunday.
