What a joyful day at Wesley Memorial! Today we celebrate our intern, Emma Strickland, who preached for the very first time ever in worship this morning.

Emma shared God’s Word with courage, thoughtfulness, and grace, and we are so grateful for the ways she is growing, serving, and leading among us. It is a gift to witness someone step into a holy calling with such faithfulness — and an even greater gift to get to cheer her on as a church family.

Emma, we are so proud of you and so thankful for you! Join us in celebrating this beautiful milestone in her ministry journey. 💛

Today we had the opportunity to honor the life of our dear Brenda Moore through a graveside committal service.

I (Pastor Angelo) give God thanks for the gift of serving alongside Pastor Becca and our Pastoral Intern, Emma, who both showed up in robes under the hot summer sun to offer love, hospitality, and the reminder of Christ’s presence to all who were present.

Tomorrow morning in church, Emma is going to bless our congregation by offering us a word about trusting God even when trust can be hard to find. I invite all who are part of our church family and will be in town to come and join us for worship as we support Emma in this summer of discernment and ministry.

For days like today, where the presence of community offers a tangible reminder of Christ’s presence with us I say praise God from whom all blessings flow.

From the chaos of creation to the freedom at the Red Sea, from manna in the wilderness to bread broken at the table—our God has been writing one consistent story: His love endures forever.

Today we paused in our journey through Scripture to ask a simple question: What have we learned about God? Through water, we see God create and rescue. Through bread, God provides and sustains. Through the cup, God takes our judgment and offers us grace. Every page of this story, from Genesis to the prophets, points us toward Jesus—the One who gathers all of history into Himself.

Through Confirmation, celebrating graduations and scholarship awards, and welcoming new staff to our team, we celebrated the ways that God continues to work in and through our church family—gathering us in for worship and sending us out for service—proclaiming the good news that His love endures forever.

Whether you've been reading along all year or you're just catching up, the message is clear: God's love doesn't quit. Not in exile. Not in our wandering. Not ever. Come to the table. His love endures forever.

We have some joyful staff updates to celebrate at Wesley Memorial! 🎉

As our church continues to grow and as new opportunities for ministry take shape, we are grateful for the faithful, gifted people God has placed on our team to help us Live, Love, and Serve Like Jesus together.

Please join us in celebrating Jessica Smith, who has transitioned into the role of Director of Communications and Hospitality. In this expanded role, Jessica will help strengthen the ways we communicate, welcome guests, build connections, and create meaningful pathways into the life of the church.

We are also excited to celebrate Linda Skipper, who has transitioned into the role of Director of Operations. Linda will continue offering her financial leadership while also helping oversee many of the administrative and operational systems that support the daily life and ministry of Wesley Memorial.

And this week, we are especially delighted to welcome Alex Rammell as she begins her first week as our new Director of Family Ministries! We are so excited for the gifts, energy, and heart she brings to our children, youth, families, and church community.

We are deeply grateful for Jessica, Linda, and Alex, and for the ways each of them will help Wesley Memorial continue growing in connection, discipleship, hospitality, and mission.
