Praising God’s Greatness
David Declared that Greatness
Power, Glory, Victory.
And Majesty Belong To The Lord.

1 Chronicles 29:10-19 (GW)
10 he praised the LORD while the whole assembly watched. David said, “May you be praised, LORD God of Israel, our father forever and ever.
11 Greatness, power, splendor, glory, and majesty are yours, LORD, because everything in heaven and on earth is yours. The kingdom is yours, LORD, and you are honored as head of all things.
12 Riches and honor are in front of you. You rule everything. You hold power and strength in your hands, and you can make anyone great and strong.
13 “Our God, we thank you and praise your wonderful name.
14 But who am I and who are my people that you enable us to give so generously? Everything comes from you. We give you only what has come from your hands.
15 To you we are all like our ancestors— foreigners without permanent homes. Our days are as fleeting as shadows on the ground. There's no hope {for them}.
16 “LORD, our God, all this wealth that we gathered to build a temple for your holy name is from you. All of it is yours.
17 I know, my God, that you examine hearts and delight in honesty. With an honest heart I have willingly offered all these things. I've been overjoyed to see your people here offering so willingly to you.
18 LORD God of our ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, always watch over your people's deepest thoughts. Keep their hearts directed toward you.
19 Make my son Solomon completely committed {to you} so that he will obey your commands, requests, and laws and do everything to build the palace I have planned.

Anybody Want To Come With Me.

Luke 9:18-27
18 One day, Jesus was alone and he was praying. The disciples came to him. Jesus asked them, ‘When the crowds talk about me, who do they say that I am?’
19 They replied, ‘Some people say that you are John the Baptist. Other people say that you are Elijah. And some other people say that you are one of God's prophets from long ago. They think that this prophet has become alive again.’[f]
20 ‘But what do you think?’ Jesus then asked them. ‘Who do you say that I am?’
Peter replied, ‘You are the Messiah. God has sent you.’[g]
21 Jesus spoke very strongly to them. He told them that they must not tell anyone about this.[h]
22 Then he said, ‘The Son of Man will have to suffer in many ways. The important Jews, the leaders of the priests and the teachers of God's Law will turn against him. People will kill him, but three days later God will cause him to become alive again.’[i]
23 Then Jesus said to all the people that were there, ‘A person who wants to be my disciple must not think about himself. He must decide that his own life is not important. Every day he must be like someone who carries his own cross to go and die. Then he may come with me as my disciple.
24 Whoever wants to keep his own life safe will lose it. But whoever gives his life to serve me will have true life.
25 A person may get everything in the whole world for himself. But if he loses his life, it would not be any good for him. He will have destroyed himself in the end.
26 You must not be ashamed of me and of my words. If you are, then the Son of Man will be ashamed of you. One day he will return and everyone will see his power. He will come with God's holy angels and he will have the bright glory of his Father God. He will be ashamed of you on that day, if you are ashamed of him now.’
27 Then Jesus said, ‘What I tell you is true. Some people who are standing here will see clearly God begin to rule in his kingdom. They will see that before they die.’

BUT GOD

Ephesians 2:1-10
1 Remember how you lived before. You did wrong things and bad things. As a result, you were dead in your spirits.
2 You lived in a bad way, like the people who belong to this world. You were obeying Satan, who rules the powerful spirits in the air. Those spirits are working now in everyone who refuses to obey God.
3 At one time, all of us lived like those people. We did whatever bad things our bodies wanted to do. If our thoughts made us want to do something, we did it. Because we were like that, God was angry with us. He should have punished us, just like everyone else.
4 But God is very good and kind! He loved us very much.
5 Because of our sins, we were dead in our spirits. But God gave us a new life, because we are united with Christ. Yes, God has saved you because he is so kind.
6 Also, God raised us up with Christ, so that we now sit with Christ in heaven. God has done this for us because we are united with Christ Jesus.
7 He wanted to show, for all future time, how very kind he is. He has helped us so much because of what Christ Jesus has done.
8 When you believed in Jesus, God saved you because he is very kind. You could not save yourselves, but that is God's gift to you.
9 He has not saved you as a result of any good things that you have done. So nobody has any reason to be proud about it.
10 It is God who has worked in us to make us what we are. He has given us a new life because we are united with Christ Jesus. He saved us so that now we can do good things in our lives. Those are good things that he has already prepared for us to do.

12.The way we deserve to be treated.
13.Psalm 103:1-5...

2 I say to myself, ‘Praise the Lord...Never forget all the good things that he has done for you!
3 He forgives all my sins...He makes me well again when I am ill.
4 He saves me from the deep hole of death's power...He always loves me and he is kind to me...That is how he blesses me so much!
5 He gives me many good things for my life here...So I become strong again, with the strength of a young eagle.

How to Worship God When Your Heart Isn't in It

Exodus 20:3-11
3 You must not have any other gods except me.
4 You must not make any idol for yourself. Do not make a false god in the shape of anything that is in the sky above. Do not make one in the shape of anything on the earth or in the sea.
5 You must not bend down your head to any idol or worship it. I am the Lord your God and I want you to belong to me alone. I will punish children because of the bad things that their fathers have done. I will also punish their children and their grandchildren too. That is how I will punish everyone who turns against me.
6 But I will truly love all those who love me. They are the people who obey my laws. I will continue to love them and their families forever.
7 You must not speak the name of the Lord your God in a wrong way. The Lord will punish anyone who speaks his name in a wrong way.
8 Remember the Sabbath day. Keep it as a special day for me.
9 You have six days every week to do all your work.
10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath day. It is special for the Lord your God. You must not do any work on that day. Your son and your daughter must not work on that day. Your servants, male or female, must not work on that day. The foreign person who lives among you and even your animals must not work on that day.
11 In six days, the Lord made the heavens, the earth and the sea. He made everything that is in them. But on the seventh day, the Lord rested. So He blessed the Sabbath day and he made it special.

1.Worshipping corporately with our church family is a gift from God.

God’s Word Renews Our Minds
A deep acquaintance with the truth
Enables us to detect and despise every false way.

Psalm 119:97-104
97Oh, how I love your law!
I meditate on it all day long.
98 Your commands are always with me
and make me wiser than my enemies.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers,
for I meditate on your statutes.
100 I have more understanding than the elders,
for I obey your precepts.
101 I have kept my feet from every evil path
so that I might obey your word.
102 I have not departed from your laws,
for you yourself have taught me.
103 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104 I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.

The Privileges and Blessings of the Gospel
The Lord puts me with people.
He specifically has ordained.
To knock the rough edges off of me.

Ephesians 2:19-22
19 So now, you Gentiles are not strangers among God's people any more. You belong to the group of God's people that he rules. You belong to God's family, as all God's people do.
20 You are like a house that God is building for himself. God's apostles and his prophets are like the foundation under the house. Jesus Christ is like the most important stone in the house.
21 He makes the whole building stand together strongly. In that way, all God's people together become like a special house that belongs to the Lord.
22 Because you belong to Christ, God is building you all together to become his house. That is where God lives by his Spirit.

1.The church is compared to a city.
2.And every converted sinner is free of it.
3.It is also compared to a house.
4.And every converted sinner is one of the family.
5.A Servant.
6.And a child in God's house.

God Provides The Power We Need For Life And Service

Philippians 4:10-19
10 I am very happy that you want to help me again. I praise the Lord for that. I know that you wanted to help me before. But you have not had a chance to do anything until now.
11 When I say that, it is not because I need anything. I have learned to be happy, whatever things may happen to me.
12 I know what it is like to need things. I also know what it is like to have more than enough. I have learned this secret. I know how to be happy whatever happens. I can be happy when I have enough food to eat, and also when I am hungry. I can be happy when I have plenty of things, and also when I have nothing.
13 I can do all these things because Christ makes me strong.
14 But certainly, you have been very kind to me. You have helped me now, when I am in trouble.
15 Also, you Christians in Philippi know that you already helped me earlier. That was the time when I started to tell people God's good news. When I left Macedonia, you were the only group of Christians who helped me. We were able to help one another, and no other group of Christians did that for me.
16 Even when I was at Thessalonica, you helped me. More than once, you sent gifts to me because I needed things.[d]
17 It is not your gifts themselves that I want. But I want you to do good things so that God will bless you in return.
18 Epaphroditus has brought the gifts that you sent to me. I have received those gifts, so that I no longer need anything. You have sent me more than enough. Your gifts are like a sacrifice with a nice smell that you have offered to God. God accepts that kind of sacrifice. It makes him very happy.
19 My Lord God in heaven has plenty of good and valuable things. Because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will give to you everything that you need.

God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability

1 Corinthians 10:12-17
12 Don't be so naive and self-confident. You're not exempt. You could fall flat on your face as easily as anyone else. Forget about self-confidence; it's useless. Cultivate God-confidence.
13 No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he'll never let you be pushed past your limit; he'll always be there to help you come through it.
14 So, my very dear friends, when you see people reducing God to something they can use or control, get out of their company as fast as you can.
15 I assume I'm addressing believers now who are mature. Draw your own conclusions:
16 When we drink the cup of blessing, aren't we taking into ourselves the blood, the very life, of Christ? And isn't it the same with the loaf of bread we break and eat? Don't we take into ourselves the body, the very life, of Christ?
17 Because there is one loaf, our many-ness becomes one-ness - Christ doesn't become fragmented in us. Rather, we become unified in him. We don't reduce Christ to what we are; he raises us to what he is.

1.1 Corinthians 10:13...The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it.
2.What an encouraging...comforting reminder for us.
3.At all times to have in our minds that when we are tempted.
4.Which We will all be tempted.
5.Today in all kinds of different ways.
6.From all kinds of different directions...the world...the flesh...the devil.
7.All conspiring against us at all times.
8.We are bombarded by temptation.
9.So When we are tempted.

11.Know this one.
12.Everything you’re tempted with is common to man.
