Today, we celebrate the heavenly birthday of a man whose life and ministry could be summed up in one unforgettable charge:
“Keep your heart right.”
Bishop Mark L. Gilkey understood that ministry was never just about titles, platforms, or positions—it was about the condition of the heart. He taught us that a right heart produces right worship, right leadership, right service, and right living.
Even in strength, he remained humble.
Even in authority, he remained compassionate.
Even in leadership, he remained a servant.
His life reminds us that God does not merely examine our hands, our gifts, or our accomplishments—He looks at the heart.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10 KJV
As we honor his memory today, may we continue to walk in the wisdom he carried and the principle he lived:
Keep your heart right when misunderstood.
Keep your heart right when blessed.
Keep your heart right when wounded.
Keep your heart right when leading others.
Keep your heart right before God.
Happy Heavenly Birthday, Bishop Mark L. Gilkey.
Thank you for your leadership, your example, your love for God’s people, and the legacy you left behind.
“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” — Psalm 116:15 KJV
Today, we do not mourn as those without hope. We celebrate a life well lived, a race well run, and a crown well earned.
Your voice still echoes.
Your wisdom still leads.
And your heart still speaks to us all. 💜
