During our prayer and worship service this week, we walked through one of our abiding discipleship commitments, In Christ. What does it mean to truly abide in a love that nothing can shake? This gathering takes us deep into the unmerited, steadfast love of God, walking us through some of the most profound promises in all of Scripture. We explore how God's mercy and faithfulness are not rewards for our performance but gifts rooted in his unchanging character. From the assurance that nothing in all of creation can separate us from God's love, to the remarkable reality that even in the middle of complete devastation, hope is available the moment we deliberately turn our minds back to who God is, these truths have the power to reorient everything. We are reminded of Jeremiah, who in the wreckage of Jerusalem's destruction did not wait for circumstances to improve before choosing hope. He simply remembered. That same choice is available to us. Whether we are carrying grief, isolation, the weight of past decisions, or a weariness we can no longer push through, the steadfast love of God is described here not as a distant concept but as a present and daily reality. His mercies are new every morning, and his faithfulness holds even when everything else is uncertain. This is an invitation to let our facts catch up with our feelings and to anchor ourselves in what God has already declared to be true about us.
