Romans chapter 10 frames all of this with a chain of questions that still press hard on us today. How will people call on someone they have not believed in? How will they believe without hearing? How will they hear without someone preaching? And how will anyone preach unless they are sent? The passage, culminating in the truth that faith comes from hearing the word of Christ, makes clear that the spread of the gospel is not a passive process. It requires people who go, people who send, and people who pray. The story of Peter and the chain of questions in Romans 10 together challenge us to stop treating global mission as a niche interest and start seeing it as the natural overflow of loving God.
