The first church building was constructed in 1903 in Edgwood Park. The present church, located on National Road at Washington Avenue, was completed in 1959. Major remodeling was finished in 1994. Opening, Binding, Loosing

Our love for Jesus is a gift from God, and He pours out blessings upon all who seek and follow His Son. Through His Spirit, God lights our journey, opening our hearts and binding us as one so we may loose His love and the way of Jesus to the world. The kingdom of heaven is anchored by God and open to every heart longing for grace, healing, and love.

A Faith that Cleanses the Heart and Crosses Every Boundary

God is not impressed with outward appearances; He delights in the heart and those who trust in Him. Whether shepherds or kings, fishermen or scholars, the humble or the powerful, God blesses those with open hearts.

No matter your status, what resides in your heart truly matters. God’s grace reaches all who live with a faith bold enough to push the boundaries of His kingdom further. Open your heart and become a vessel for God’s love, carrying light where it is needed most.

Motivation

We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, but what about the people who don’t live next door?

Jesus loves every single child of God—regardless of zip code, and He challenges us to go and do likewise.

If we want to live like Jesus, we have to love like Jesus. Let this be the motivation we need to extend that love to everyone, near and far.

Tear Down, Rebuild

Christ is the ultimate cornerstone - a strong foundation on which to build the blocks of our lives. Without Him, those blocks eventually weaken and crumble. But when life feels on the edge of collapse, turn to Jesus. It is never too late to tear down the brittle stone and rebuild a life led by Christ.

Extra in All the Best Ways

This month we take a break from my reflections on our church statement to reflect on something different…well, someone different. I’ll start with an account from the life of Jesus of Nazareth: “6 And when Jesus was in Bethany at the house of Simon the l***r, 7 a woman came to Him having an alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it on His head as He sat at the table. ...

If you can’t get enough of “The Chosen,” have never watched it, or tried it and couldn’t get into it, join us in the Family Room on Monday evenings beginning August 3rd for a new weekly event: The Chosen Watch Party!

A historical drama based on the life of Jesus and those who knew him. Set against the backdrop of Roman oppression in first-century Israel, the series shares an authentic look at Jesus’ revolutionary life and teachings.

Doors open at 6:15 pm. Each episode will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the Bible Roundtable, as a Messianic Jewish rabbi, A Roman Catholic priest, and an evangelical professor of theology discuss whether what we watched is scriptural or interpretation, adding cultural and historical context.

For questions, text or email Christie Hill at [email protected] (304) 840-1923, or Jo Lynne Nugent at [email protected] (304) 281-8292.

Lost and Found - Church Picnic 2026

In life, we are often led astray by our desires, pushing for things we think will make our lives better while pulling further from God.

We become lost, not just from God but from the true purpose of our lives, the purpose He intends for us.

Instead of focusing on our own wants, let us look to God instead. Follow Christ and be found again.
