Alhamdulillah β€” less than 24 hours after our UIC town hall, Senator Luz Escamilla has publicly announced she's opening bill files for the 2027 General Session to pursue legislation addressing hate-motivated crimes, following the attack on brother Sohail. She specifically cited what she heard from our community at the town hall as part of what's driving this action.

This is a powerful example of what happens when we show up, share our stories, and build relationships with elected officials who will stand with us. JazakAllahu khairan to everyone who attended and spoke up, and to Senator Escamilla for her continued partnership with our community.

We'll keep you updated as this moves forward. 🀲

πŸ“ Venue Update β€” Interfaith Perspectives: Understanding Jesus and Mary in Islam and Christianity

Please note that our upcoming Christian-Muslim Dialogue event has been relocated to the Utah Islamic Center multipurpose hall.

All other details remain the same β€” same date, same time, same program.

We are grateful to the Granite Library for their partnership and support. The venue change is due to a temporary equipment issue at the library that is beyond their control. Granite Library remains a wonderful community resource and we look forward to partnering with them again in the future.

If you have already registered, no action is needed β€” we look forward to seeing you there!
