Let’s help put the Kiwanis Club that is hosted at MVUMC on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays every month! See Pastor Phil or Doug if you’re interested in Kiwanis Club.

We are need of some toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls for an upcoming service project! We’ll be making cat toys that we can donate. You can bring them to our March 26th meeting or April 9th meeting.

This afternoon (too windy this morning! 🌬️ 🔥 😬) I burned the palm branches from Palm Sunday and our prayers we nailed to the cross on Good Friday last year. Your offering to God was symbolically lifted to the listening heart and ears of the One who created you and has named you “Beloved”. We trust that God fully and willingly receives your offering.

The ashes created today will be added to the ashes from years past as we join that great cloud of witnesses and all who still come together to remember that from ash we were created and to ash we shall return.

We will have a special service tonight in observance of Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the Lenton season at 6pm with the imposition of ashes. The snow is forecast to stop before the service time and the temperatures are forecast to be high 20's. USE YOUR BEST DISCRETION AND BE SAFE WHEN DECIDING IF YOU WILL COME TO CHURCH TONIGHT OR IF YOU FEEL IT IS BEST YOU STAY HOME. Regretfully, this service will not be livestreamed, however, I will be offering ashes for anyone who wishes to receive them after worship on Sunday morning in the Sanctuary.

Whether you come or not, may you remember especially during this Lenton season that you were fearfully and wonderfully made by the One whose works are wonderful. May you more fully realize during these 40 days that you are enough, just as you are and that you are worthy loved. Beloved Church, may you lean in toward Jesus in this season and be witness to greater truth.

I am really looking forward to our time in worship over the next 6 weeks as we journey together through the Lord's Prayer. We will take a deeper dive into the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. My prayer is that you arrive to Easter morning with a renewed sense of your very belovedness in the eyes of your Creator.
