Communion Sunday: Two chances to worship with the UMC today. 10am at Christ UMC 3598 Pennsylvania Ave and 11:30 at First UMC 3301 West St. Looking for a Sunday school. First UMC has both adult and children’s Sunday school at 10:30am. Free breakfast for kids in class and free cookies and coffee in the Narthex for everyone. Communion table is open for everyone to partake, do not have to be a member.

Conflict: Today we look at conflict in the Bible, Exodus 12:1-14 and Matthew 18: 15-29. Come on out to see how God dealt with Pharaoh to free the Israelites from slavery and how Jesus wants us to deal with conflict in our modern times.

‼️IMPORTANT‼️
Hi everyone! As many of you heard this week the Brooke Hancock County Family Resource Network has closed permanently. 🥲 Many of you do not know that this group helped 50 teens with Christmas 🎄 presents 🎁 last year while First UMC helped another 40 teens with our new Operation Teen Christmas program. With the BHCFRN closing the OTC program is going to need a lot more funding to help additional teens this year as they are being directed our way. First UMC had a goal of $5000 to help 50 teens but we now know this is going to need to increase to help those family’s that received help last year from BHCFRN. So our new goal is $9000

While BHCFRN was government funded, First UMC had to raise all of its funds last year $4000 with the help of our church and the community. I am reaching out to you all for help again this year. Anyone willing to hold a fundraiser at your local establishments, businesses and donate proceeds would be awesome! I have donation cans that can be placed in your businesses too. Anyone willing to stand outside of local grocery and restaurants on the weekends or weekdays to collect, we could use your help too. Anyone needing community service hours that wants to help, please reach out to me.

We are having a spaghetti dinner fundraiser and would hope you would come have dinner but we also need some help with donations of crafts, gift baskets and gift cards for our personal choice auction, along with donations of spaghetti, Ragu meat flavored sauce, Italian bread, ranch and Italian dressing. Any local businesses and family’s that would like to donate items can call me at 304-374-0945. Anyone wishing to donate to OTC please send checks payable to FUMC with OTC in the memo. 100% of all proceeds goes to the OTC program.
