What is the Staying on Mission Grant?

SEKBA wants to help motivate and equip our associational churches to stay on mission with the Gospel. We would like to challenge our churches to come up with creative ideas to engage their community or a people group in their community.

The most creative plan of engagement will be awarded a grant of up to $1,500 from SEKBA. By providing a grant, the program seeks to support initiatives that reflect the love of Christ, address community needs, and promote collaboration between churches and their neighbors. We want to help our churches stay on mission and think outside of the box.

Budget: Total project costs may not exceed $1,500. Funds may cover materials, supplies, rentals, and other direct project costs. Funds cannot be used for staff salaries or regular church operational expenses.

SEKBA desires to honor and recognize exceptional volunteers across our association. These are individuals who quietly serve, love well, and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit in action.

Each year, two volunteers will be selected to receive:
Recognition in the SEKBA newsletter.
A special recognition at their church.
A $200 gift to bless and encourage them.
An associational recognition at the Annual Meeting.

The Day — A 24-Hour Sabbatical for Pastors

The pastors in our Association carry full, often overwhelming schedules that leave little margin for the most important part of their ministry: the care of their own soul. Many spend so much time nurturing others that they neglect to rest, reflect, repent, and ready themselves for what God is calling them to do.

“The Day” is a 24-hour sabbatical created to help a pastor disconnect from every distraction and reconnect deeply to the Lord. It is a time to be still and know that He is God.

This is not a couples retreat or family trip — it is a personal spiritual reset, just like Jesus modeled as He often retreated alone to pray.
