We are quite proud that, because of the generosity of our Alumni, we will be awarding a record $20,000 in scholarships to WHS graduating seniors on Saturday evening at the Alumni Banquet.

Reminder to the seniors who applied -- you must be present at the Alumni Banquet to be eligible to receive a scholarship.

Congratulations to the family of Warren Sheehan 1951... today Warren was posthumously elected to the Wayne Local Schools Academic/Citizenship Hall of Fame. For many years, Warren served as the historian for the committee that chooses the Hall of Fame honorees.

The official induction will be at Alumni on Saturday, May 23... Warren's wife Marta Rush Sheehan 1952, and his children Sandy Sheehan Howard 1976, Christine Sheehan-Dyer 1980, and David Sheehan 1984 will receive the award on his behalf.

Received the following last night -- hopefully some of you mid-60s WHS grads might be able to help with photos and info . . .

"My brother-law Bobby Head a graduate of Waynesville High School just passed and I am trying to help with anyone who might have photos from year books or newspaper articles or pictures I could share for his memorial this upcoming weekend. If I remember correctly he and another running back (Bobby Whorl?) were referred to as “The Bobbsey Twins” 1966-67?
