It’s officially that time of year again!!! The Miami Cemetery Association Road Fund Dessert Auction is right around the corner!!! November 11th @ 2:00 pm @ Crossview Church. This auction is our only annual fundraiser and with the support of so money people it has continued to not only cover the annual maintenance for our roads, but it has started to grow the fund beyond that!!! We are a non profit organization so the volunteers who help with this auction and the donations to buy the desserts are greatly appreciated!!! If you have never been to this auction it truly is a lot of fun! All of the information is on the flyer. The desserts donated are delicious and extremely hard to find unless you are present at the auction!!

I would like to thank everyone who donated in anyway towards the Miami Cemetery Dessert Auction! We had 58 people in attendance today which as far as I know is our largest one yet. We had multiple families and business from around our community represented, with people in attendance from Tennessee and one donation made all the way from Florida!! Absolutely amazing, thank you to Sharon Jewell and her team that helps her put this on, thank you to all the bakers and dessert makers, thank you to Crossview Community Church for allowing us the space to do this! Here is our grand total that the auction raised this year, $17,315.00!!! That surpasses the old record by just under $6,000.00
Thank you again from the cemetery board and all of us who work and donate our time here. We humbled by your donation’s!!

Todays storms took down 13 trees in the cemetery. Really sad because our trees are so big and so old. They add so much character to our beautiful cemetery. Our backhoe broke down over a year ago and our new one is due to arrive in 9 days. We could clean up almost all of this ourselves once we have the right equipment again. I said all of that to say this, MBI Tree Service is absolutely amazing. 2 times during Memorial Day week I had trees fall this year that were much too big to handle with the equipment we have right now. Both times they got a crew here within a couple hours and took care of us. Tonight was no different. I called and asked them to put us on the schedule and within an hour Luis, the owner, was here looking at the damage. Luis’ family own gravesites here, and I am so humbled by the way they treat our cemetery like we are their number 1 customer. One of the trees that came down tonight was hung up on another tree and was creating a dangerous situation, also in the same spot another tree was blocking our main entrance, MBI showed up in force, like they always do, and got the street opened up, and dropped the other treat to prevent anyone from getting hurt. MBI is a Waynesville company, who’s owners live here in the township. If you are a grave owner or have a loved one buried here and you see these guys around town, be sure to let them know that you appreciate the way they have helped us keep our cemetery clean! Especially the last couple of months!!!
