out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” We will discover this week at Valley Covenant Church that this is...THE FINAL DESTINATION for every believer! In the old days before the internet, when you were planning to go somewhere on vacation you had never been to before, you would get a brochure describing what to expect on your visit. A "great reckoning" refers to an impending, momentous, and extraordinary judgment in which one must experience accountability for their actions. Such a day is on God's calendar.

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. It is when we focus on the powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit in the Church. Jesus made a very important statement about the Holy Spirit to His disciples. He said, “I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you” (John 16:7 ESV). Who doesn't want an advantage? This week at Valley Covenant we will celebrate and honor the Holy Spirit's ministry, and discover that as believers we can experience "The Pentecostal Advantage!" Let's address the elephant in the room! This Sunday is Mother's Day. For some this day will be full of affection and warm feelings. It will be an easy day to celebrate! But, for others, it will trigger waves of complicated emotions. It will be a hard day! With this difficult balance in mind, Sunday's message at Valley Covenant Church will be applicable to everyone, regardless of their history with Mom. Here's a loaded question: Anyone having any "issues" with your body right now? Is it cooperating with you? Or, is it giving you some trouble? Are you having to take medications? Being seen by doctors? Have you noticed some aches and pains you didn't have before? The Bible is clear. These bodies that you and I live in are wearing down, and eventually, given enough time, will wear out! Then what? Well, for those "in Christ," there is some good news! A day is coming in the future at the resurrection, when every believer gets a brand new "super body!' This week we are going to take a look at God's word and unpack this astounding promise from God!
