Held weekdays at St. Mary's Episcopal Church and livestreamed on our FB, YT and Livestream page for any and all to follow along with from home or abroad! Links to the daily readings are available on our home page or the Venite app. Participation in the Daily Office is at the heart of Anglican spirituality. It is the proper form of daily public worship in the church. In addition to forms for Daily Morning Prayer and Daily Evening Prayer in contemporary and traditional language, the BCP section for the Daily Office includes forms for Noonday Prayer, Order of Worship for the Evening, Compline, and Daily Devotions for Individuals and Families. These offices include prayers, a selection from the Psalter, readings from the Holy Scriptures, one or more canticles, and the Lord's Prayer. Forms for Morning and Evening Prayer include an optional confession of sin. The BCP provides a Daily Office Lectionary that identifies readings and psalm choices for Morning and Evening Prayer (pp. 936-1001), and a Table of Canticles with suggested canticles for use at Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer (pp. 144-145). The officiant in the Daily Office may be a member of the clergy or a lay person.

Outreach Update! This past Saturday, we were honored to help support St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Chester as they prepared for a 2026 family and “back to school” fellowship event. Along with the amazing work of their Food Cupboard ministry, the Chester parish collected school supplies for local children in need. Through our own recent backpack donations, we were able to contribute additional school backpacks, along with a collection of early White Gifts for children’s birthdays and other special occasions. Rev. Deirdre Whitfield in Chester sends her sincere thanks and love to everyone here at St. Mary’s Wayne!

Every Sunday our vases on both the High Altar and the Lady Chapel Altar are filled with lovely flowers in memory of, or in thanksgiving for, loved ones. We also have a sanctuary candle that burns by the Ambry to remind us of our Lord’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament, and this may also be given in memory of or in thanksgiving for loved ones. The memorial is listed in the Sunday bulletin, and loved ones are remembered during Eucharist services for the week. Several weeks are available for donations.
The weekly flowers are arranged by The Bouquet Shop. The cost is $60 for the High Altar flowers, $35 for the Lady Chapel altar flowers, and $5 for the sanctuary light. Checks may be made payable to “St. Mary’s Altar Guild,” noting the memorial date and submitting to our Parish Administrator Nicole Marie through the collection plate, her office or through the mail. Noah’s Ark Needs Your Help!
Our Thrift Shop, Noah’s Ark, is a very substantial contributor to the mission of St. Mary’s. Every year the Thrift Shop enables St. Mary’s to contribute to various other charities that St. Mary’s feels align with its mission.
The Thrift Shop opens for the Fall season on September 9th.Over the past month volunteers have been selecting their check out desk schedules for the new season. We needadditional volunteers, men and women of all ages, to fill out the remaining open slots.
This very important volunteer role presents the face of St. Mary’s to our customers. Two volunteers staff the checkout desk on Wednesday and Saturday from 10AM to 1PM. You will meet members of our community who purchase clothing,accessories and other items that they may not otherwise be able to obtain. It is a positive and fulfilling volunteer activity.
