🍕 High Schoolers: Lunch & Learn! 🍕

Got big questions? Love free pizza? We have you covered!

Starting this month, we are kicking off our Lunch & Learn series! Typically happening on the second Sunday of the month, these gatherings are a space to hang out, eat a great lunch, and dive into a more in-depth Bible study tackling the big questions you actually want to talk about.

Here are the details for our very first one:
⏰ When: Sunday, September 13th from 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
📍 Where: The Parish Hall
🍕 On the Menu: Pizza! (And we will all vote on October's lunch together!)
💰 Cost: Completely FREE for students!

All high school students and friends are welcome! You don't have to navigate life's biggest questions alone—invite a friend and come hang out.

⚠️ Registration is required so we order enough food!

🗓️ Deadline to register: Wednesday, September 9th by the end of the day.

Worship: 15th Sunday after Pentecost

Conflict is a part of relationships and life in community. Jesus’ words in today's gospel are often used in situations having to do with church discipline. The prophet Ezekiel tells of warning the wicked to turn from their ways, and Paul reminds us that love is the fulfilling of the law. We gather in the name of Christ, assured that he is present among us with gifts of peace and reconciliation.

📖Texts: Ezekiel 33:7-11, Romans 13:8-14, and Matthew 18:15-20.
📻The radio broadcast is sponsored by Myrna Culbertson in memory of John Culbertson who died September 2, 2025.
🪷Altar flowers are given by Renae Bockholt in memory of loved ones.

All are welcome to join us in worship! We offer services on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. as well as Sundays at 9 and 11 a.m. Our 9 a.m. worship service is livestreamed and can be viewed at stpaulswaverly.org/live.

Weekly Faith Formation Recap!

It was a busy week as we started up and continued programs this school year!!

📖On Sunday the 30th, we welcomed those students who are entering our confirmation program. Bibles were handed out and we prayed for those families. Deb also met with our confirmation small group leaders during our fun family fellowship time!

🐕🐈🐒✝ At Saints Alive on Wednesday, the kids learned about Adam & Eve naming all the animals and more importantly caring for all of creation. We talked about ways in which we can care for creation and then had some fun drawing our favorite animals as well using our imaginations to discover new animals. It was also the first time our preschool Saints Alive students met who also talked about creation.

🙏🏻 After a delicious meal on Wednesday evening, our first Wednesday worship was held. Thanks to Pastor Nikoli for the great service!

🎉 Our first confirmation night of the school year also happened on Wednesday with a fellowship night to get to know each other, find out small groups and talk about the year! High School youth also met for the first time with some getting to know each other, devotions and some hide and seek!

☕ Finally on Thursday the 3rd, high school students gathered for their first Coffee and Connection at Starbucks. You can read about that on our Instagram page that 7-12 grade students will help Deb manage! Check it out at on Instagram!

The next Ladies' Night Out will be our annual “Sack Supper/Fast Food” event. We will pick up our own meals from our favorite fast food restaurant or bring one from home and meet around the campfire in Deb Turnball's yard on September 10 by 6:00 p.m. Ingredients for S'mores will be available for those who wish for a sweet dessert. All adult women are welcome.

🍽️ Wednesday Night Community Meals are Back! 🍽️

Gather around the table with your neighbors and friends! Starting this week, we invite you and your family to join us in the Parish Hall every Wednesday from 4:45 PM to 5:30 PM for a delicious warm meal and great fellowship.

Here is what you need to know:

📆Plan Ahead: We will release our menus monthly so your family can easily coordinate your busy calendar.

🪙Free-Will Offering: There is no fixed cost to attend. Meals are provided via a free-will offering—give what you can, but most importantly, just come eat!

Want to help make these meals happen? 🤝We are building a wonderful team of volunteers to help prepare and serve the food. You do not need to commit to every week! We are setting up a flexible helper rotation, so even volunteering once a month makes a huge difference.

If you'd like to join the rotation or learn more, please reach out to Cassie Hales. We can't wait to share a table with you!
