We see five local people we know. Do you?

The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion is hosting Catholic Saints of America, a special exhibit for America’s 250th birthday honoring the holy men and women who helped shape the Catholic faith in the United States — including four witnesses with ties to the Diocese of La Crosse.

The exhibit will bring together relics, speakers from across the country, a novena for our nation and a first-of-its-kind look at Saints, Blesseds, Venerables and Servants of God who lived and served in America.

It is a beautiful chance to celebrate our Catholic heritage, pray for our country and be reminded that holiness is not something far away. It has walked our roads, served our communities and helped form the Church right here in our own diocese.

Today, the Bishops of the United States will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Parishes and individuals around the country are encouraged to join the U.S. Catholic bishops in this historic occasion, beginning with this Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus written for the consecration.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed SummerFun this past weekend (and "weathered the storm" on Friday)! We were so glad to be back in the parking lot at Holy Name this year!

Huge thank you as well to the committee chairs that helped plan the event, all of the volunteers that took time from their day to help setup/teardown or work a shift, to the many vendors who took a chance on our first have Craft/Vendor Fair, and to HYDE Wisconsin, Caleb and Emily Music , Local Heroes Band, and The Mike Maher Band for providing amazing music all weekend long!

Following Mass, we brought our Eucharistic Lord out into the community in a beautiful procession around the block. As we walked, we sang songs of praise and worship, publicly witnessing to our faith and devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Along the route, we paused to pray at the former rectory and at the school building, asking God’s blessings upon all who have lived, learned, served, and worshipped there through the years.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in honoring Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist. May our Eucharistic Lord continue to guide and strengthen our parish family as we strive to be His presence in the world.
