ROOTED STUDENT MINISTRY IS TOMORROW NIGHT ~ OCTOBER 27!!!

Pastor Levi and Charlie are away in Maui, Hawaii 🌊 🌈 🏝️ on their honeymoon 🍯 🌙 -- so TOMORROW NIGHT - Tuesday, October 27th -- Ministry Intern, Dominic Carnaghi will be leading ROOTED STUDENT MINISTRY @ The Lake! ("Rooted Student Ministry" includes all 7th-12th grade students).

We'll have a bonfire 🪵🔥🪵. Buscemi's Party Trays 🍕 🍕 🍕 are ordered and we will have a time of LIVE Worship 🗣️🎶 led by Aaron Edwards & Kayla. "FlourisHer Tammy" has a couple fun 🎉games planned - and Dominic has prepared a 20 minute message from Revelation 3 called "Hot, Cold or Lukewarm.”

There'll be Faith Talk mini groups after the message to help our students discuss what it truly means to be “On Fire for Jesus!” We’ve got incredible adults who'll be there to help lead discussions.

BOTTOM LINE -- no rain forecasted, it's gonna be a GREAT & FUN NIGHT to SHOW UP and BRING FRIENDS and GROW YOUR FAITH!!! 💪🏼✝️

David went to Nob, to Ahimelek the priest. Ahimelek trembled when he met him, and asked, “Why are you alone? Why is no one with you?” – 1 Samuel 21:1

Do you remember life in your 20s? Some reading this are there right now. And it’s possible a teenager or two might see this. For these, what I am about to write is predictive / prophetic in nature. For the rest of us, we can probably nod in agreement and say, “Yes and Amen!” Life in our 20s is typically about figuring out who you are, who you want to be with (spouse and friend group), where you want to live, what you want to do career-wise, etc. In short there’s movement. A lot of movement! Maybe this is why Jesus began His ministry at age 30. He had to get through His 20s. LOL

As we read and study 1 Samuel and learn about the stages and phases of the life of David – future King of Israel – we see he is no different than most in their 20s. As a teenager, he is at home and shepherding the family’s sheep. He’s using his free time to learn how to use a sling shot and also how to write poetry and compose music.

Then, God uses these things to launch him into the next phase – he slays Goliath with the sling shot he had perfected. He goes to the King’s Palace to soothe and entertain King Saul with his lyre.

How ironic that in chapter 20 David is now in his 20s and he will experience all that comes with that decade and season of life. He is on the run. Unfortunately, this movement is not of his choosing. He’s being hunted by his father-in-law because his father-in-law (King Saul) is threatened by David’s popularity. He spends his 20s moving around and trying to figure things out.

Perhaps this is you. Maybe there’s many moving parts in your life right now and you’re in your 20s – or older… We all can spend time in every decade trying to “figure it out.”

Stay close to Jesus. Let Him be your Guide. He created you and knows how to get you through your obstacles and to your destination. David was 30 when he finally wore a crown as King of Judah. He made it, and so will we!
