Stoney Church

Today people wrote down their idols and brought it to the cross. Powerful day.

What is an idol?

Idols are an image used as an object of worship.

Idols take the place of God in our hearts.

Idols aren’t in a temple, but inside of us.

Idols are something we hide.

Idols are anything we place too much faith in.
Idols are anything we fear more than God.
Idols are anything we care for more than the Lord.

Idols will never satisfy.
Idols separate us from God.
Idols enslave us.
Idols damage our identity.
Idols destroy us.

We must ask the Lord for discernment.

Psalm 139:23-24

Search me, God and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
