🎉 Come Celebrate 187 Years of Faith, Fellowship, and Worship With Us! 🎉

On Sunday, August 30, Nineteenth Street Baptist Church will celebrate our 187th Church Anniversary and our Annual Homecoming. Our theme for this special day is "Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future."

This day of worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving is a chance to come home, reconnect with your church family, and give thanks for 187 years of God's faithfulness. As we honor those who came before us, we look forward together to all God has in store. Whether you've been with us for decades or you're returning after time away, there's a seat saved just for you. 💛

We are especially blessed to welcome our guest preacher, Dr. Elaine M. Flake, Pastor Emerita of Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York, who will bring a Word from the Lord to inspire and sustain us. 🙏

And the celebration doesn't end there — join us in the Fellowship Hall for our Homecoming meal immediately following the morning worship service, as we break bread together as one church family. 🍽️

The Nineteenth Street Baptist Church family mourns the passing of our beloved brother, Jerry A. Moore III, the son of our late pastor, the Reverend Dr. Jerry A. Moore Jr., and Dr. Ettyce Hill Moore who served our congregation for more than 50 years.

A respected attorney, veteran, devoted family man, and cherished member of our church family, Jerry carried forward a rich legacy of faith, service, and commitment to others. His presence among us was a blessing, and his life and contributions will be remembered with deep gratitude.

We extend our heartfelt love and deepest condolences to his wife, Cynthia, and to the entire Moore family. We pray that God will surround them with comfort, strength, and peace during this time of sorrow.

At this time, the family respectfully requests privacy and is not receiving visitors. They sincerely appreciate your continued prayers, love, and understanding. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.

As a family, we grieve with hope, trusting in the promise of our Lord Jesus Christ: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

A beautiful moment captured on Men's Day: our guest preacher, Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, his family, and our Senior Pastor Rev. Kevin Lamár Peterman, together at Nineteenth Street Baptist Church. 📸

And what a word he brought. As President & CEO of the Children's Defense Fund, Rev. Wilson stepped into the pulpit and preached "When the Brothers Show Up" — a message that met our theme head-on: we were Built for This. His word reminded the men of Nineteenth Street that when we answer the call and stand together, God moves.

It was a special joy to have Rev. Wilson's family worship alongside us. Thank you, Rev. Wilson, for pouring into our men and our church family.
