Pvt. William H. H. Brown, a Union Solider from Rockville, MD who served at the Battle of the Crater, part of the Petersburg Campaign, which was among the most violent confrontations of the Civil War.
Over the past decade, the County Executive and his designees have issued permits authorizing the excavation of Pvt. Brown’s remains as well as the bodies, coffins, bone fragments and funereal objects of thousands of other residents of the River Road Community. We protest this betrayal of trust and answer the call to petition for Earthly and heavenly justice.
Join Rev. Dr. Segun Adebayo, Dr. Marsha Coleman Adebayo, Dr. Sidney Davis, Rev. Rick Seabron, Her Majesty Himia Nanan Akua Kalia Adaye Queen Mother of the Royal Brong Kingdom, Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana, Master Drummers Dr. Joseph Ngwa and Baba Thair Abdullah, Vocalist Dr. Karen Ama‘Echefu, and the inimitable historian, activist and spoken word artist, Mr. Robert Stubblefield for this informative and deeply spiritual service.
The service will be officiated by human rights activist and lawyer Rev. Dr. Julianne Robertson, Esq.
