Join us for Midweek Bible Study at Jerusalem Baptist Church as we continue our journey through Genesis: The Book of Beginnings.

This week we explore chapters 25–27 — three chapters that remind us that God’s purposes are never derailed by human failure. We will stand at the grave of Abraham and watch the covenant pass, intact, to the next generation. We will see God appear to Isaac in the midst of a famine and Philistine hostility, reaffirming the ancient promise with fresh urgency. And we will sit with a deeply dysfunctional family — parental favoritism, sibling rivalry, deception, a stolen blessing, and murderous rage — and discover that even there, the hand of God is at work, carrying the promise forward exactly as He declared.

We will ask hard questions the text itself invites: Can God’s blessing be stolen? Can deception serve divine purpose? What does it mean that Jacob, the trickster, becomes Israel? And what do we do with a Rebekah who schemes against her husband to fulfill the word of God?

Come ready to study. Come ready to be challenged. Come ready to see yourself in the text.

Contrast the deceptive philosophies of false teachers with the true faith found in Colossians
Evaluate what it means to be rooted and built up in Christ
Embrace our new standing in Christ as a guard against false teaching
Come join the study, fellowship and fun!

Worship — 10:00 AM

Join Pastor Teal for the second installment of the four-part series, "Shepherded," from the 23rd Psalm. In Psalm 23:4, David draws us into the blessed promise of the Shepherd's PRESENCE — a presence that precedes, protects, and preserves every sheep in His care. Pastor Teal reminds us that the Lord is CONTINUALLY Shepherding — and therefore ALWAYS PRESENT. Whether walking through a dark valley, facing an enemy, or having fallen into a pit, the Shepherd is on the job: guiding us through His PRECEDING PRESENCE, fighting our battles through His PROTECTING PRESENCE, and lifting us up — and keeping us — through His PRESERVING PRESENCE.

Hear the Word of the Lord: "The Shepherd is with you."
