This Father’s Day, meet Guillermo, a father helping his daughter fight malnutrition one day at a time.
His two-year-old daughter, Leilani, is facing chronic malnutrition. Her care takes consistency: checkups, follow-up, nutritional support, and time.
In many of the communities Nourish serves, mothers often carry much of the daily responsibility for children’s care. But not in Leilani’s family.
Guillermo, a farmhand, has taken an active role in his daughter’s recovery.
When his wife cannot attend the program, he brings Leilani himself. He takes her to height and weight checkups, picks up the nutritional packages she needs, and helps make sure she does not miss the care helping her grow stronger.
Because sometimes a father’s love looks like making the trip again and again.
In partnership with the local church, Leilani’s family is receiving steady care and support as she continues growing into who God created her to be.
