Something to consider:
"Dear friend,
It’s not easy to find a spiritually-oriented group or set of teachings and practices that honor the role of psychotherapy, emotional attunement, relationships, the shadow, trauma, and the body as part of an integral path of transformation and healing.
Even if our primary interest is in spiritual transformation, we can’t separate out our unresolved relational trauma, attachment wounding, and the narcissistic injury we may have experienced.
What I’ve discovered in my own life (through my own suffering and struggle) and also in my clinical practice is that if we fail to tend to our own wounding and trauma, it will inevitably leak out, and color any realization that we might have.
It will affect our ability to feel safe and connected, that we truly belong here, as well as our capacity to play and dream, and to truly enjoy our creative, relational, and spiritual lives.
Unprocessed somatic, emotional, and psychic material has a way of creating a perceptual lens through which we come to imagine ourselves, others, and the world; and also how we imagine and relate with nature and with the Divine.
No matter how deep and profound our realizations have been, they will be filtered through whatever unmetabolized trauma that remains in the body and in the depth of the soul.
In response to a longing that I’ve felt and many requests that I’ve received, I’ve created this new online group and training for those looking to make a (renewed) commitment to their inner lives, in a way that is attuned to the full-spectrum majesty of the human person, sensitive to our core vulnerabilities and sensitivities, embodied and relational, while also anchored in the deeper layers of spiritual transformation.
One of the intentions for the group is to create and discover a true holding environment, an empathic we-space where we can tend to the mysteries of the heart together, including the wounds around love that we’ve all experienced. As relational beings, our nervous systems are wired and our hearts are crafted to co-regulate, and to heal within an attuned relational field.
As part of our new yearlong training, we’ll integrate discoveries, teachings, and practices from the fields of:
• Depth, psychoanalytic, and somatic psychotherapies
• Relational and contemplative neuroscience
• Developmental psychology and trauma studies
• The clinical application of mindfulness and meditative awareness
• The experiential discoveries of the mystics, alchemists, yogis, and shamans
Each of these wisdom streams has something unique to show us about the wildness, creativity, beauty, and full-spectrum nature of the human heart.
I look forward to making this journey with you and supporting you in whatever I can in discovering and embodying a healing path that is truly your own."
With appreciation,
