Join us at the Narrows at First Landing State Park on Sunday, August 23 as Kim Walker-Smith leads us into an anointed time of worship right after our regular service time.

We are excited to welcome Father Kevin to Boat Church!
Fr. Kevin J. O’Brien is a priest of the Diocese of Richmond and was ordained on August 11, 1979. He attended St. John Vianney High School Seminary (Richmond, VA), St. Meinrad College Seminary St. Meinrad, IN), and the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, where he spent four years studying theology. After ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Kevin served in parish ministry as parochial vicar and pastor in Richmond, Virginia Beach, New Bohemia, Lynchburg, and Chesapeake. He did graduate studies and received both a Doctor of Ministry degree as well as a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA. As a priest, he loves to celebrate liturgy, preach, and share his love for the Word of God, especially his favorite book of the Bible---The Book of Revelation! Fr. Kevin retired on July 1, 2023 after 44 years of priesthood, and now is able to celebrate liturgy on weekends at parishes throughout the diocese. As a hobby, he enjoys reading, basketball, visiting friends, and traveling to new places around the world!
