Valencia Presbyterian Church

Valencia Presbyterian Church A thriving community of believers, and lovers of the word of God. Our church is a thriving community of believers, and lovers of the word of God.

Valencia Presbyterian Church is tucked away in the small, quaint borough of Valencia, Pennsylvania. Our church is small enough to feel intimate and warm, but large enough to provide a number of programs and opportunities for ministry to help both children and adults to love and serve Christ. We strive to recognize and nurture the Christ in ourselves and each person that we encounter along the way.

VPC has a long tradition of outreach and service to its members and the community. Our vision is to grow the body of Christ through faith, love and service. We hope you will join us for worship to experience for yourself the fellowship of Christ. We meet at 10am on Sunday mornings, both in-person or online via YouTube Live.

In the second chapter of Acts, we get a window into the early life of the church and the ways in which the followers of Jesus began to see others joining them. We get to see how baptism becomes an outward sign of the inward change in the lives of believers and we also see how all three persons of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are at work in the life of the early church. This week we will celebrate Trinity Sunday, Baptisms, and the official start of our series on the Book of Acts! Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

On Pentecost we celebrate and remember the anointing of the apostles by the Holy Spirit. Jesus promised to his followers that when he went away, that they would have the Spirit of God with them. Yet, what does that mean for you and for me? Who is this mysterious third person of the Trinity and how is the flame of the Holy Spirit alive in the church today? Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel (), as we invite the Holy Spirit into our lives.

The often glossed over ascension of Jesus just might be the piece of redemption-history that we need the most. We celebrate Christmas as the moment God became human and Easter marks Christ’s victory over death, so what is the ascension all about? We barely remember it each year. Maybe the mystery of Christ’s ascension holds more meaning that we could have imagined. Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel () as we discover meaning in the ascension.

One of the best parts about the Christian life is that we are promised that we are not alone. Yet, too often loneliness and isolation can prevent us from feeling a true sense of belonging to one-another. This week we will spend time looking at the work of the church in building community, the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our midst and what true belonging looks like! Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

Jesus was triumphant over death but yet, the sting of dying is still felt for us today. Each of us has mourned the death of someone close to us as well as faced the reality of our own mortality. This week, we will see how the father’s house has many rooms and what promises that holds for you and me. Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

What does it mean to be a shepherd? Our images of men and women living idyllic lives surrounded by sheep and lambs with well-trained sheep dogs seem to be lacking a really important element: why was the shepherd necessary? This week, we will look at what it means for us to have a Good Shepherd, how that shepherd confronts wolves (evil), and what our place is in the flock. Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

Have you ever felt like you were missing out on something really important? What about being disappointed by something or someone you had put a lot of hope in? This Sunday we will join two of Jesus’ disciples on the Emmaus road as they work through their own fears of missing out on what they had hoped for. We will see where Jesus meets our disappointment with truth and where our ideas might be too small for the deep and wide hope of the Kingdom of God. Join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

During this Easter season we will be spending time following in the footsteps of the risen Jesus as testified in the Gospels as well as Acts. In the early days post-resurrection, the disciples were afraid. Two primary things animated their fear: the religious authorities in Jerusalem as well as the unknown of what they were to do now that the resurrection had happened. This week we will explore how they navigated these fears and what it has to say to us as we navigate our own uncertainties that can cause the fear of the unknown for you and for me.

We hope you will join us Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel ().

On Easter Sunday, Jesus rises to meet our fears, confronting our un-belief and our anxieties. On this Sunday we will address what his rising means for you and for me in a culture that seems to be obsessed with fear. Join us Easter Sunday at 10am, either in-person or on our YouTube channel (), as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection fearlessly.
