A Tired Alleluia: Thursday, May 7, 6:30p
Yesterday was the fifth Sunday of Easter. The Easter flower which was once vibrant and full of bright colorful blooms is now a little duller. Most of the flowers have fallen off, leaving bare stems and uninspiring leaves behind. It can be hard to hold onto Easter joy throughout the entire season of Easter let alone throughout the year. Yet still we proclaim “Alleluia! Christ is Risen!” For in the reality and the promised hope of resurrection we know that God offers life in the face of death, joy in the face of sorrow, and celebration in the face of weariness, sometimes as a healing balm to usher in a new chapter of life, sometimes as lifeboat to carry us in the storms of life. To help hold onto the Alleluia of Easter, as tired as it may be at this time, you are invited to a service of hope and healing on Thursday, May 7 at 6:30pm. Learn more at stjohnchurchmars.org
