June 7, 2026-Corpus Christi Sunday

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings Corpus Christi helps us remember that Jesus feeds us with the Eucharist. The readings show how God cared for His people in the desert and how Jesus is the living bread who gives life. This day teaches us that we depend on God and that the Eucharist brings us together as one. When we share the bread and cup, we are united with Christ and with each other. This feast invites us to trust God and receive His love. © Young Catholics

May 24, 2026-Pentecost Sunday

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings, Pentecost is a celebration of the Holy Spirit coming to the followers of Jesus. It is a feast that reminds us of how God’s Spirit gives life, courage, and strength. The readings show how God’s power works in many ways, from creation to the birth of the Church.
This day is often called the birthday of the Church. The Spirit came with wind and fire, filling the disciples with new energy. They spoke in many languages, showing that the message of Jesus is for all people. What once was scattered is now brought together.
The gift of the Spirit is not only for the first disciples but for us today. Pentecost reminds us that God’s Spirit is always at work. He guides us, helps us pray, and unites us as one body in Christ. This feast calls us to live in the Spirit each day.

May 27, 2026-Feast of the Ascension

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings, The Ascension of the Lord celebrates the moment when Jesus returned to the Father. It is a joyful reminder that his mission on earth was complete, but his care for us continues. The disciples saw him lifted up into heaven, yet his promise to be with them always gave them courage.
This feast reminds us that Jesus is now seated at the right hand of God. He reigns as King over all the earth. His authority is above every power and ruler. Even though we cannot see him, he is still guiding his Church and giving us strength through the Holy Spirit.
The Ascension of the Lord also calls us to action. Jesus gave his followers a mission to go into the whole world. We are sent to share his message, to baptize, and to teach others to follow him. His words are for us today just as they were for the first disciples.

May 10, 2026-Mother's Day

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings, Happy Mother's Day to all the women who gave us life and guidance, faith and love.
A special prayer for Moms who have lost a child or weren't able to have a child. You are in our prayers, as we know this day can be especially hard for you.

This Sunday highlights the close relationship between Jesus and his followers. In all three years, the readings show Jesus speaking with love and care. He promises the Holy Spirit, who will guide and help the disciples. Jesus reminds them to keep his commandments and stay in his love. These readings call us to trust Jesus and follow him.
We also hear messages about peace and hope. In one year, Peter shares that God’s love is for everyone. In another, we see the early Church working through disagreements. The message is clear: the Christian life is built on love, unity, and trust in God’s help. The 6th Sunday of Easter helps us remember that even when life is hard, we are never alone. Jesus sends the Spirit to be with us.

April 26, 2026-Good Shepherd Sunday

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings, The 5th Sunday of Easter brings words of comfort and hope from Jesus. He tells His friends not to be afraid. He reminds them that He is the way, the truth, and the life. These words point us to the promise of being with Him forever.
The first reading shows the early Church learning how to care for its people. Leaders are chosen to serve so that the apostles can keep teaching and praying. This shows the value of working together and using our gifts for the good of others.
The second reading calls us living stones, built on Christ the cornerstone. We belong to God and are called to share His light. The Gospel ties it all together, showing us the path to the Father through Jesus. On the 5th Sunday we remember that following Him leads us home.

April 26, 2026-Good Shepherd Sunday

Our Mother of Sorrows Parish
Tucson, Arizona

Greetings, The Shepherd Who Guides Us

The 4th Sunday of Easter is often called Good Shepherd Sunday. On this day, we hear readings that remind us how Jesus leads, protects, and cares for His people. The image of the shepherd is one of the most comforting pictures in the Bible. It shows the closeness and love between God and His people.
The first reading tells how the early followers of Jesus grew in faith and number. They listened to Peter, turned away from sin, and were baptized. The psalm speaks of God as our shepherd who guides us to peace and safety. These words bring hope and assurance to all who trust in Him.
In the Gospel, Jesus says He is the gate for the sheep. He is the way to life, joy, and safety. On the 4th Sunday of Easter, we are reminded to listen for His voice and follow where He leads. His care brings life in its fullness.
