HOLY CROSS FALL FLEA MARKET & CRAFT FAIR

Save the date for our annual Fall Flea Market and Craft Fair on Saturday, November 14, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM here at Holy Cross! Whether you want to clear out your closets, donate baked goods, volunteer your time, or just come shop, there are plenty of ways to support our church fundraiser.

How You Can Help

Donate Items: Donations to the Holy Cross table are still welcome- we are especially looking for gently used toys and sports equipment.

Bake for the Bake Sale: We appreciate our bakers! Please bring your labeled baked goods to the Church on Friday, November 13th between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM, or on Saturday, November 14th after 7:30 AM. Baked items can also be left in the kitchen prior to Friday evening. Questions? Contact Edith Skoog, Bake Sale Chairwoman. Thank you in advance!

Volunteer Your Time: We need helpers for Friday evening setup, Saturday morning setup, and Saturday afternoon takedown. We also need volunteers to help in the kitchen during the fair. Even just a few hours make a huge difference!

COVENANT TO CARE – THANK YOU KENDRA!

A heartfelt thank you to Kendra Norman for volunteering to lead our annual Covenant to Care for Children holiday outreach! Thank you, Kendra, for generously offering your time and talents to coordinate our upcoming hat/mitten/glove collection and our annual Christmas Giving Tree. Because of your willingness to serve, we can continue supporting our "adopted" DCF social worker and bring essential winter warmth and holiday joy directly to local children and families who need it most.

CHRISTMAS POINSETTIAS

We will decorate the altar for the Christmas Eve service with red poinsettias that members and friends may order to honor or remember a loved one. This year, we are proud to partner with the Trumbull High School Agriscience Center and will be purchasing our plants at a discount from them to help support their wonderful program.

The honorariums and memorials will be listed in our Christmas service bulletin. Order forms are available in the welcome center. The potted flowers are $13 each, and the deadline for orders and payment is November 22.

FEED THE NORTHEAST 2026

We did it, and then some! Not only did we meet the 500 item threshold, we surpassed it! Praise God for our members' generosity! The $250 seed money from our Thrivent Action Team will be used to add more items to our final count.

Our donations will be delivered to Bridgeport Rescue Mission (BRM) this week at an important time for those experiencing food insecurity.

Meanwhile, we await word on the additional $500 donation to BRM from the Thrivent Member Network - Northeast Region, the sponsor of Feed Northeast. Thank you for your support of the Bridgeport Rescue Mission as they work to meet the needs of our greater Bridgeport community!

Holy Cross has begun to work with Refill the Pantry, a Thrivent-supported, volunteer organization that helps to provide food for the food-insecure in our communities. There is one more collection to be held at the Stratford Stop & Shop on October 31. Volunteers contribute one or two hours at the collection, requesting shoppers to help contribute items from a list to benefit local food pantries. If you can help, please scan the QR code in the image to sign up.

We are gearing up for our annual holiday outreach through Covenant to Care for Children, and we need your help to make it a success! On Sunday, November 1, we will observe All Saints’ Day. On this day we remember those faithful members of God’s Kingdom who have been called to the Lord and their bodies laid to rest awaiting the Resurrection. We will speak the names of the faithful departed during worship, in thanksgiving for the life and faith God granted to them. We will include members of Holy Cross who have passed in the last year, but if you have a family member or friend you would like to remember, please send their name, your relationship with the person (i.e. mother, cousin, friend), and date of passing from this past year to the church office by Tuesday, October 27 at [email protected].
