Praying His Word Today…
Cast all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]. 1 Peter 5:7 Heavenly Father, we come before You remembering the gentle invitation You extend to every burdened heart. You do not command us to carry our worries with silent strength. Instead, You welcome us to place them into Your hands. Today we rest in the beautiful truth that the God who rules the universe also watches over His children with tender affection. Nothing that troubles our hearts escapes Your notice. Forgive us for the habit of clutching anxieties that You have already invited us to release. We rehearse our worries as though they must remain ours forever. Yet Your Word reminds us that Your care is deeper than our fears. Lord Jesus, You carried the heaviest burden of all when You bore our sin upon the cross. Because You carried that weight, we are free to bring every lesser burden to You. What grace that the Savior who redeemed us now walks beside us in every concern. Holy Spirit teach us the holy habit of surrender. When anxiety rises again help us place it quickly into the safe keeping of our Father's hands. Let peace grow strong within us as we remember that the One who holds the galaxies also holds our lives. We remember that we are deeply cared for. We rest in Your loving attention. We rejoice that nothing is too heavy for our God. In Jesus name. AMEN!

Read Psalm 89:11-29 "Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, and in Your righteousness they are exalted" (vv. 15,16). That describes how God's people ought to be.
We should walk in joy. Throughout the year the people of Israel heard joyful sounds. The trumpets would call them to a feast or remind them of the faithfulness and goodness of God. The psalmist is talking here about that festal blowing of the trumpet. Today we might hear a joyful sound--the sound of the trumpet, the voice of the archangel--and meet the Lord. God's people should be walking in joy. Every day should be a joyful experience of anticipation, excitement and enrichment.
We should walk in the light. "But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (I John 1:7). When you walk in the light, you see things as they really are. You don't stumble or cause someone else to stumble. Those who know God's name know victory and blessing.

Eventide Thoughts...
The life of faith is a marathon. The ups, the downs, and the plateaus in our prayer life are a reflection of this race. And just as in a marathon we need to keep running, so we keep praying. The apostle Paul said, “pray continually” (1 Thess. 5:17), “keep on praying” (Rom. 12:12 nlt), and “devote yourselves to prayer” (Col. 4:2). All of these statements carry the idea of remaining steadfast and continuing in the work of prayer.
And because God, our heavenly Father, is a personal being, we can develop a time of close communion with Him, just as we do with our close human relationships. A. W. Tozer writes that as we learn to pray, our prayer life can grow “from the initial most casual brush to the fullest, most intimate communion of which the human soul is capable.” And that’s what we really want—deep communication with God. It happens when we keep praying.

Praying His Word Today…
Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. Proverbs 3:5 Heavenly Father, we come to You remembering how easily our hearts drift toward self-reliance. We plan carefully and think deeply, yet our understanding is small compared to the wisdom that belongs to You. Today we rest in the liberating truth that our lives are not held together by our ability to solve every problem but by Your perfect knowledge and faithful care. Forgive us for the exhausting habit of leaning upon our own reasoning while leaving Your promises untouched. Teach us again the quiet strength of trust. Lord Jesus, You are the wisdom of God revealed to us. Through Your life and Your cross we see that the ways of heaven are deeper than the calculations of earth. When the path ahead appears unclear remind us that the One who directs the stars also directs the steps of His children. Holy Spirit steady our hearts in the confidence that the Lord never misleads His people. When doubt whispers and anxiety presses near, bring us back to the simple strength of faith. As many faithful saints have said before us, it is safer to trust the Lord in the dark than to trust ourselves in the light. Shape our lives into a testimony of quiet reliance upon Your goodness. We remember that Your wisdom is greater than ours. We rest in Your faithful guidance. We rejoice that the Lord directs our steps. In Jesus name. AMEN!

Study Hall on Facebook...Read Ezekiel 34:5-12
In the open sea, a rescuer positioned her kayak to assist panicked swimmers competing in a triathlon. “Don’t grab the middle of the boat!” she called to swimmers, knowing such a move would capsize her craft. Instead, she directed weary swimmers to the bow, or front, of the kayak. There they could grab a loop, allowing the safety kayaker to help rescue them.
Whenever life or people threaten to pull us under, as believers in Jesus, we know we have a Rescuer. “For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep . . . . I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered” (Ezekiel 34:11–12).
This was the prophet Ezekiel’s assurance to God’s people when they were in exile. Their leaders had neglected and exploited them, plundering their lives and caring “for themselves rather than for [God’s] flock” (v. 8 ). As a result, the people “were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them” (v. 6).
But “I will rescue my flock,” declared the Lord (v. 10), and His promise still holds.
What do we need to do? Hold fast to almighty God and His promises. “I myself will search for my sheep and look after them,” He says (v. 11). That’s a saving promise worth holding tightly.

Eventide Thoughts...
Jesus told a parable to an “expert in the law” (Luke 10:25) about someone who needed to be rescued. Two men—a priest and a Levite—saw an injured man as they were traveling. But rather than help him, both “passed by on the other side” (vv. 31–32). We aren’t told why. Both were religious men and would have been familiar with God’s law to love their neighbor (Leviticus 19:17–18). They may have thought it was too dangerous. Or perhaps they didn’t want to break Jewish laws about touching dead bodies, making them ceremonially unclean and unable to serve in the temple. In contrast, a Samaritan—who was despised by the Jews—acted nobly. He saw the man in need and selflessly took care of him.
Jesus wrapped up His teaching with the command that His followers should “go and do likewise” (Luke 10:37). May God give us the willingness to risk reaching out in love to help others.
