A Statement of Faith by Andrea Senseman

To parents of young children:

I have been there. It is hard. You may find yourself silently calling out to God and Jesus even though you think you’re not a religious person.

Joining a church can help so much. It can provide spiritual support and instruction for the children. It can provide a community.

When my husband and I adopted our three children, we were not part of any church and hadn’t been for some time. We soon realized we very much needed support for us and the children. Family support is good but some of our family is distant. FPC Troy was a great fit from the beginning and continues to be so today.

Attending church and Sunday School added a rhythm to our week. A community welcomed us and the children. My spiritual side, long neglected, started waking up. The children played with other children, but also absorbed good life lessons. My younger self-absorbed self probably would not recognize me now.

9:00AM: Join us in the Social Hall for donuts, coffee, juice, fellowship, and lots of information about the happenings at FPC!

9:15AM: Choir Practice in the Choir Room. Haven’t sung in the choir before or haven’t sung in a while? That’s OK, start today!

10:30AM: Worship in the Sanctuary.

11:30AM: Come back to the Social Hall for lunch and more fellowship!

All of God's people gather around the Table to celebrate the life,
death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Part of the atonement that
happens around this Table is reconciliation, which is the focus of
the World Communion Offering. Experience the grace that comes
from reconciling all peoples from all nations around the corner
and around the globe through the ministry of this offering.

Detailed information about the World Communion Offering along with offering envelopes can be found located next to the bulletins on Sunday morning. This special offering is collected from September 6th through October 4th.

Our Fruit of the Spirit today is GOODNESS or GENEROSITY. Paul
reminds us to never tire of doing good. In Proverbs we are reminded of how humility and goodness go together.

You are invited to attend Pianist Dr. Nanyi Neil Qiang's solo piano recital on Saturday, 9/12/2026, 1PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Troy. The program includes his beloved piano music from the romantic genre. This recital is dedicated to the anonymous donation of Kawai Grand Piano Model R1, an excellent instrument capable of producing incredible tone and color.

Kathy and Flat Jesus visited Basilica of Saint Nicholas in Bari, Italy. We know that Jesus is everywhere, but it seems like Kathy is, too!

Flat Jesus joined the Hollenbacher’s on a visit to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. St. Andrew’s is the oldest Presbyterian congregation in Canada, dating to the founding of Lunenburg in 1753.
