Cornerstone Church is a non-denominational Church in Trafalgar Indiana. It means that we don’t belong to any religious denomination. We don’t answer to any state or national board. Denominations do help though. Labels let you know what you are getting so what are you getting at Cornerstone? We are a Bible based Church. By Bible we mean the whole Bible, Old and New Testaments. The only useless page
in the Bible is the one that separates the Old Testament from the new. It is one book, one Author with one theme- Jesus. Jesus Christ is only way anyone can be saved. He bore our sin on the cross, taking God’s wrath for us. The Bible says we need to repent of our sins and trust Jesus Christ to save us. The Ten Commandments show us that we are sinners and need someone to save us. Jesus Christ is our Savior, our Redeemer and so much more. He offers salvation to anyone who asks for it. That’s the gospel. Preaching
We typical do expository preaching. Sunday Morning Service
We go through one book at a time, verse by verse, word by word. The Pastor interprets Gods word with God’s word. We do Communion every Sunday morning service. We want to remember what price Jesus paid to redeem us from our sins and thank Him for it. Sunday Night Service
On Sunday nights we have Sunday School. We typically separate into men’s, women’s, teen’s, and kids classes and discuss God’s word together. These separations are not policy but just facilitates great discussions. Wednesday Night Service
We may talk about the return of Christ, prophecies fulfilled and yet to be fulfilled. Jesus said His faithful servants will not be caught off guard when He returns. So we want to be the servants with lamps full of oil, burning brightly, watching for His return. We may cover more topical studies or special sections of other books of the Bible. Music
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16
We sing hymns, choruses, praise songs and use our talents to praise him. Giving
We give freely. Meaning we do not take up an offering, but we have a designated place for you to give. It is an act of worship between you and God.
