🌅 A Major Message From a Minor Prophet (Part One) 🌅

This is Alan, Media Technician at Murphy Hill Baptist Church.

What a blessing it was to hear Pastor Mike's message this morning, "A Major Message From a Minor Prophet (Part 1)," from the book of Obadiah. God's Word came alive as we were reminded that the sins God addressed in Edom are still challenges believers face today, and yet His grace remains available to all who will humble themselves before Him.

The message was both convicting and encouraging, pointing us to the truth that God sees the condition of our hearts and calls us to walk in humility, compassion, and obedience. I am already looking forward to Part Two and what the Lord has in store for us through this study.

If the message spoke to your heart, or if you were so engaged that you didn't have the opportunity to take notes, don't worry. I have included Pastor Mike's sermon notes below so you can continue studying God's Word, reflect on the truths found in Obadiah, and prepare your heart for the next message.

📖 May the Lord use these notes to deepen your faith, strengthen your walk, and draw you closer to Him as we continue this journey through the book of Obadiah. 🙏✨

Sometimes the greatest battles aren't fought around us—they're fought within us.

Pride whispers, "You don't need God." Indifference says, "It's not my problem." The pain of others can become entertainment instead of a call to compassion. And possessions can quietly take the place of people.

These were the sins that brought judgment upon Edom in the book of Obadiah. Yet if we're honest, they still walk among us today.

But here's the hope...

Even in a world marked by brokenness, God's presence is near. He sees every tear, every struggle, every silent prayer. When justice seems delayed, when wrong appears to be winning, and when life feels uncertain, God remains on His throne.

✨ The same God who judged Edom is the God who offers grace today.

His call is not toward pride, but humility. Not toward indifference, but compassion. Not toward ridicule, but love. Not toward self-reliance, but surrender.

As we walk through another day, may we ask ourselves: Am I reflecting the heart of Edom—or the heart of Christ?

🙏 "The same God who judged Edom still expects His people today to walk in humility, compassion, and integrity."

Here is a though to ponder:
